"Nanda, you in here?" I asked, knocking on her door lightly. It's normal for me to just walk into Fernanda's flat as the front door is almost always unlocked and her father is almost never home.

"Yeah, come on in!" I hear her say from the other side of her door, and I swing open the door, waltzing into her room. I collapse onto her bed just as pulls her earphones out of her phone and drops them onto the floor. "How are you, bitch?" She asked, and I rolled my eyes, kicking her door closed with my foot.

"I'm alright." I say, listening around to see if I can hear any other voices. "Are your brothers home?" I asked her, and she furrowed her eyebrows, shaking her head.

"No, don't worry. Diego is probably shagging some random whore, and Antony never leaves his room, so... you'll be fine." She shrugged her shoulders, and I grabbed my phone from my pocket, mindlessly flicking through it.

"Hey... can I ask you something?" I turn my head towards her and Fernanda nods her head. "How do you know if you're attracted to someone? I mean, there's a difference between knowing that someone is good looking and knowing that you'd want to fuck them, right?" I asked her, and Fernanda raised one of her perfectly sculpted, arched eyebrows.

"Where is this coming from?"

"I'm just curious."

"Well... when you like someone, you feel it in your stomach. You look at them a little differently to how you look at everyone else, and, I don't know, you just feel it, you know? I don't really know how to explain it." She shrugs her shoulders, and I slowly nod my head.

I've dated a few girls in my life, and I'm not sure any of those conditions applied to me. I've never dated a man or been with a man, but I think I know. I know in the deepest parts of my heart that I'll feel all those feelings for a man one day. One day.

"Why are you asking?" Fernanda asked. "Is there someone I should know about?" She grins, and I shake my head. "Come on, Theo, you can tell me who she is." She swats my arm, and I poke my tongue into my inner cheek.

"I..." I sigh, rubbing my hands over my face, groaning quietly. "I think I'm... I think I'm gay." I confess, and Fernanda sits up quickly, staring down at me.

"Really?" She gasps, and I slowly nod my head. "Oh. That is not what I was expecting you to say." She shrugs her shoulders. "Okay. That's cool."

"What? That's all you're going to say?" I frown, blinking at her.

"What else do you want me to say?" She pouts her lips. "You're gay. Good for you." She states, and I let out a relieving breath. I wasn't sure whether Fernanda would be accepting of my newfound sexuality, especially as I know what her father and family is like, so I guess it's kind of surprising that she's so chill about it.

"Oh. Thanks." I mumble, and Fernanda giggles before laying next to me, resting her head on my chest. She chews her gum and scrolls through her phone. Her hair is in my face, and I swat it away.

"Yo, Fernanda-" I hear, and her door swings open. My eyes widen when Fernanda's brother walks in, his eyes flickering from his sister to me. "The fuck's he doing here?" Antony asked, his eyes blazing just as Fernanda sits up.

"He's my friend, shithead." She snaps, throwing a pillow at him. Antony catches it easily, chucking it onto the floor. "What do you want?" She asked, and Antony clears his throat, rubbing the tip of his nose.

I forced myself to stop breathing so that Antony had less of my attention, but his eyes kept flickering to me, so it clearly wasn't working. Eventually, I gave up and sat up, leaning on the bed frame.

"You got my charger? I can't find it." He asked, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning on the doorframe. I sigh and pick up a random book from the crooked table beside Fernanda's bed just as she gets off and kneels down to pick up what I'm assuming is Antony's charger from the floor.

I stole a glance at Antony, but he was already looking at me, his eyes jumping down to the book in my head before he focused back on my face. My eyebrows furrow and he quickly looks away, resting his temple on the frame as he licks his bottom lip. I gulp and look away, blinking repeatedly. That was... weird.

"Found it." Fernanda sighs, standing up and walking over to her brother. She hands him the white, long wire, and he quickly takes it. "You're welcome." Fernanda snides.

"Don't take my shit, dickhead." Antony sighs, before he turns around and walks away.

"Slag!" Fernanda shouts after him.

"Shut the fuck up-" I hear Antony speak with a heavy London accent, just before Fernanda slams the door closed and the rest of his words are cut off. My eyebrows raise. Fernanda sends me an apologetic look, but I just disregard it with a wave of my hand.

"He can be such a knobhead sometimes." She huffs, flopping onto her bed.

"Sometimes?" I questioned, and she just rolled her eyes, laughing quietly. I grin and drop the book onto her bed. "Wanna order food? All the places around here are cheap, so it won't cost that much." I shrugged my shoulders, and Fernanda grins in response.
