Chapter 20

"Jed just asked me out" Theo spoke, entering the room with confusion. Liam had been waiting on his bed. His heart dropped to his stomach.

"What?" He frowned, waiting for Theo to finish. "I said yes" He continued, thinking back to the moment. Liam's throat began to feel tight, his chest closed up like the air was poison.

"You like him?" Liam asked, barley able to get the question out. His voice cracked as he did, he was trying to hold back the tears, the heart break. "I did" Theo shrugged, not noticing that Liam was struggling. The boy was furious and sad all in one. His nails pressed into his hands, a way of calming himself down.

"But do you still?" He asked with his jaw tightened. He wanted to man handle the other boy, to destroy him for taking Theo like he suspected. "Maybe. I'm not sure. But we'll find out."

"What did you have to tell me?" He asked, still curious. Liam shook his head, he could feel his eyes watering. "Nothing, its not important" He let out, turning his side lamp off.

"You sure?" Theo asked, the boy didn't reply. Instead he turned over, covering himself with the blanket. Theo frowned, looking to the boy.

Liam couldnt help but let the tears fall on to his pillow.

Liam basically waddled into his sisters room, she could smell the saddness coming off of him before he had even opened the door. She frowned, watching as it slowly opened to reveal the small boy. His hair covered his face but not his composure. "Li—whats wrong?" She asked, walking over from her portrait. He sniffed, he had been crying most of the night until it sent him into a deep sleep. His eyes burned. He went to wipe his face with his sleeve. Wearing a hoodie too big for him. She pulled him closer to her, wrapping her arms around the boy as he began to start crying. She pushed the door closed, hugging him tightly and never wishing to let go. He hugged her back just as tight.

"He doesnt like me." He let out between cries. "He never will, I'll never be good enough for anyone."

"Dont say that" She frowned in to his shoulder. "Hes dating Jed" The boy pulled back, looking to her with anger. "Jed?" She asked, wondering if she had heard him right. "Yes." He wiped his eyes with his sleeve, looking to her bed for approval. She nodded, watching as the boy went to go sit on it. "I was going to tell him, I was ready to tell him everything. But then Tien took him away." He looked up, the anger in his eyes could be shown through the quiet glow of gold.

"I'm going to kill him." He threatened. Hope stared at Liam in disbelief "No" She announced, she had still been standing in front of the door understanding exactly how angry Liam could get.

"Dad would have never let him get away with this !" The boy yelled. Hope continued to stand there, her arms were crossed against her chest. "Neither of us are dad" She spoke, her voice laced with anger for him bringing their fathers passed mistakes up to her in the way he did.

"Dont ever say that to me again, you hear me?" Her voice was filled with leadership as she spoke, determined to make sure he understood how angry he had just made her. He bowed his head "Sorry"

Not only was Hope his sister but since they were siblings of the same pack which was left to his eldest sister Hope, she was also his alpha. He trusted her more than a brother did but as a pack leader would too. They even had the mark of a Crescent Wolf to remind them they were apart of a powerful pack given down from their mother.

"You need to stay put, Jed didn't take anything from you. You failed to tell Theo your feelings. Jed probably had no idea" She reasoned. He sighed glancing back up at her "You're right."
