On My Death Bed

Chapter 36

Liam stirred awake, his room was freezing cold and it had been pitch black. He sighed, realizing it had just been a nightmare. Teenagers werent suppose to go through this stuff. It seemed the more he stayed here the more PTSD he got.

"You okay?" Theo called from the other side of the room with a soft tone. He had already been up, unable to sleep with everything that had happened the past few days. "You cant sleep either?" The younger boy asked, using his Wolf eyes to see Theo in the dark.

The boy was sat up, the blanket reaching to the end of his legs. His hair was extra fluffy, he assumed it had been due to all the rolling around.

"Not at all"

This seemed to be their first actual conversation since what Theo had done. It wasnt an argument, it didnt involve fighting. It was as if everything were okay. Theo didnt dare question it, he liked the vibe that floated around the room now and he didnt want to jinx that.

Liam sighed. "Wanna turn on the TV?"

"Sure" Theo smiled lightly, he could see the glow from Liams eyes, they lit a small yellow light throughout the room.

The two remained silent throughout the start of the movie. Liam chose Comedy, hoping the brightness of a funny movie would help them sleep and forget about everything.

Theo broke laughter first, the sound of his voice echoed throughout the room giving the auburn haired boy a comforting feeling. He smiled listening to the sound.

Morning hit within hours, the two boys had stayed up the rest of the night. Their eyes could barley stay open by daylight.

"If its really Triad, I know where to find Maya" Hope looked up to her girlfriend, they both knew the last time she had gone there that everyone forgot her.

"Are you sure you should go back there?" Jo asked, knowing this would probably be a trigger for the girl. She knew of the nightmares in the dark, the trauma that pit had caused Hope.

"Its Maya, shes apart of this team. She'd do the same for me"

The brunette nodded knowing how stubborn her girl was. "Okay then. Believe I wont leave you to do this on your own, not again"

Hope shook her head "I'm tired of leaving you in the line of danger, Jo. I almost lost you yesterday and it scared me" She looked to the floor. "It seems everywhere I go death tends to follow, I cant lose you. I dont think I'd be able to survive that."

"And I can't lose you, Hope. I know I haven't been through as much as you. And I understand..I know how protective you are of me but I can handle myself."

"I know you can, love." She sighed "That doesn't mean I want to see you hurt"

"I cant promise anything but I can promise that I'll fight like hell to remain by your side till I cant anymore"

The auburnette frowned, knowing Jo was going to die one day regardless felt like a sting. She wasn't sure how'd she handle the death of her true love, who she felt to be her soulmate. Her only wish was to shove her feelings down again, to even forget about the brunette. The love she had for the girl had taken her over, it was holding her hostage and it made some days more difficult than others. She never expected to fall so hard for someone with a limited life span.

"What are you thinking about?" Jo asked, moving her hand to the girls face. She drew circles on the older girls cheek, hoping she'd find comfort in the physical touch. "Would you be mad if I locked you in a cell?" The auburnette asked in a high pitched tone. Her girlfriend laughed, taking it as a joke. "I sure would be"
