・゜゜・.TWO MONTHS LATER .・゜゜・
"Pumpkin you have to be careful," Garcia attempted to reason as she coded something on her computer. They, for once, hadn't been given a case the second that they finished all the paperwork of the last one so the BAU was stuck in a limbo. Some people left to get food or to take naps but Clara, Garcia and Spencer all decided to just stay at work as Clara had a feeling that the second she would walk through her door, the call would come through. So they had a picnic in Garcia's office and had spent the last hour just talking, well the women had but Spencer chose to read.
"Pen I had my surgery ten days ago, I'm fine," Clara countered, trying desperately not to show the slight pain that she knew would be fixed between her brows whenever she moved slightly. Thankfully, her surgery had gone the way that they hoped it would have had the doctors suspected that some of her period pain would be taken away but they could not guarantee that all of it would be gone.
"You're not fully healed for six weeks! Reid, come on, you'd have to agree with me?"
"I'd prefer it if she was still on bed rest," he added without looking up from his book, hand still trailing down the pages of the book as he read at lightning speed.
She grinned triumphantly, "See! And he's a doctor so it counts more."
"He's not a medical doctor Pen," Clara replied softly, beginning to spin a pencil with a feathered top between her fingertips. "Even if I do value his and your opinion, I need to get and to work. I'm bored out of my mind in bed."
Garcia stopped typing and fully turned in her chair, back almost facing Clara as she spoke directly to Spencer. "What if we told Hotch? He'd send her home."
He looked up from his book, hand completely stopping on the page as a look of interest flickered across his face. "It would probably work, especially if Rossi found out since he's so protective over her," he added and the two of them smiled as the plan hatched in front of them.
Clara frowned deeply, sighing aggravated as she interrupted, "Okay, will you guys quit talking like I'm not here?"
A knock echoed through the door and all conversation (or plans) halted as Hotch leaned in the doorway. "Reid, Davia, wheels up in fifteen we have a case."
Clara's gaze shot to look between Garcia and Spencer, urging them to not say a word with her eyes. Whilst the both of them completely ignored her and instead tried to figure out if the other was going to say anything, their wordless communication was a little bit rustier. Hotch left almost as quickly as he had appeared, not giving either of them the time to speak up. "Promise me you'll be careful and not do too much?" Garcia urged as both Clara and Seoncer stood, shooting him a look that spoke a thousand words. Spencer left the room in a hurry that could be disguised as a want to get to the jet quickly but in reality he was attempting to catch Hotch so he could have a slight word with him, not enough to tell all the secrets but just enough so that Clara would get assigned the lighter duties without her knowing that they had intervened.
"If it makes you feel better I'll stay out of the field and in the precinct as much as possible," she sighed softly as she approached the now open door to her office. "But I'm not particularly happy about it."
She grinned as Clara went to close the door, "Love ya Pumpkin!"

After their case, the BAU had collectively decided it was time for the monthly drinks that the bar where everyone (even Hotch and his wife) would drink. Everyone had to be in the right mood for the nights to occur, which contributed to their lack of frequency after the more horrific cases. But luckily, everyone baring Spencer and Clara, were down to go to the bar for the evening. They (Spencer and Clara) had decided to only stay for an hour or two as she had to get home to take medication and he wasn't particularly fond of bars.
