The September Ball is the Met Ball of the Philippines. It is an event that showcases the designs of local designers by the most distinguished celebrities in the country. Philip's company had the most bankable celebrities in the industry. I only met Calhoun and Asia. I haven't dressed any local celebrity aside from them.
This is also the first red carpet appearance of Philip and me since what happened. Philip assured me that any footage from the fashion show has been removed from circulation. I haven't asked Philip what happened to my abductors ten years ago. So far, what I know is that his family is behind bars based on a lot of different charges. Instead of pulling Philip's reputation down, it allowed him to shine more. People around him know what was he like as a boss and employer. They can't taint him just like that. He is not his family.
Tonight, both of us will enjoy it. We deserve it. I made sure that what I wore would make a statement. I designed the gown myself and I designed Philip's tuxedo as well.
The theme was Hollywood Glamour. I decided to go with a heavily jewelled silver fringe dress. The neckline ended on the middle of my stomach which showed an ample amount of cleavage. It may be too bold in the Philippines but still very modest in the fashion shows I attended internationally.
I settled for a wet look for my hair and a bold lipstick to go with my light makeup. I grabbed my purse and headed out of the suite where I'd be meeting Philip. He's dressed in a dark grey tuxedo that enhances his already good physique.
"Gusto mo bang mapaaway ako ngayon?" Tanong nito. His eyes raked my body like he was removing my clothes in the process.
"With you in my arms? I don't think the boss will allow that." I smiled seductively at him.
"Why do you have to look so fucking perfect?" He gave me butterfly kisses on my bare neck.
"You're giving me too much credit." Hinaplos ko ang batok nito.
"Because you are perfection, my love."
I stopped his hands from roaming. "We need to go. We don't want to miss this. You know that right?"
He smiled in resignation. "Of course."
As we rode the elevator down to the floor where the event was held, he held my hands. This is our first event as a couple.
"As much as I want to keep you to myself, we are working in industries that deprive us of that." He touched my chin.
"I'm always the proudest when you're beside me."
When the doors opened, we were greeted by camera flashes. His hand instinctively went on my waist as we walked on the red carpet.
"Sir Philip! This is your first official event with no other than Marceline Blanchett. Is this you confirming the relationship between you two? Are you officially off the market?"
"We are in a happy relationship. And this won't be our last one for sure."
"Miss Marceline. This is your first September Ball. How do you feel?"
I smiled. "I'm excited of course. Aside from Philip who'll make sure I'll enjoy this event, I look forward to the designers who will be showcasing their creations tonight. I am a woman of fashion so this is my scene. I look forward to meeting great people tonight."
"You are such a beautiful couple, has anybody told you that?"
I glanced up at Philip who was smiling down at me too. "I don't know. I guess we are beautiful together."
