Just like every year, King's Cross Station was packed with people, usually muggles, but you could occasionally spot the odd Wizarding family, with one or more massive trolleys.
This was my fifth year at Hogwarts. It seemed like only yesterday I was here for the first time, squeezing my eyes shut as I ran into Platform 9¾.
I hadn't even arrived on the platform when I was attacked by one of my friends.
It was Sirius 'Padfoot' Black.
"Moony! Ready for your OWLs, mate?"
"Pads, not so loud." I whispered. "Muggles don't do OWLs, they do GCSEs."
"What? What's that stand for?"
I shrugged. "Don't even know. Alright, Wormtail?"
I spotted Peter right outside the platform entrance. He flinched as Sirius patted him on the shoulder.
"See you on the other side." Padfoot smirked before running towards the wall between the 9 and 10.
"Am I the only one who still hates the entrance?" Peter muttered.
"It's the worst. They couldn't just have a key or something to stop Muggles?"
He nodded with a slight smile before running through with his eyes closed. I followed promptly after.
We boarded the train, meeting up with James and Sirius in their compartment.
"Hi, Prongs. How was your summer?" Wormtail smiled, while I put his suitcase in the overhead compartment.
"Boring. When can we do magic outside school?"
"When we're 17. Obviously."
James mimicked me.
How mature.
A few moments later, the train started. While the other three discussed their next prank (already) I scanned the passengers walking past.
Severus, who seemed to be searching for a compartment, briefly glanced in ours before running away.
Regulus looked longingly at his brother before being dragged away by his Slytherin friends. Both of them want to make up, but neither can build up the courage to actually speak to one another.
Finally, the girl I was looking for walked by, with the girl James was probably hoping to see.
I jumped out of my chair far too eagerly and opened the door.
"Y/n!"
She spun around. Every time I see her, it's like it's the very first time. Her beauty never ceases to amaze me.
You wouldn't be wrong to say I have a slight crush on her. Although, it's not as much love as admiration for her wits and her kindness.
I suppose it's the same as I used to feel for Sirius. I admire his loyalty and courage more than his looks (although he's not unattractive).
"Remus! Hi!" Lily smiled.
"We've got some room in our compartment, if you need somewhere to sit?"
"Yes please! Everywhere else is packed!" Y/n grinned.
She dragged her red-haired friend with us. Last time I checked, she despises James, who adores her.
"Do you three mind if we sit here?" Y/n asked politely.
"Not at all." James approved, while smirking flirtatiously at the muggleborn. She rolled her eyes at him.
"Shouldn't you be in the Prefect booth, Mr Gryffindor Prefect?" Y/n teased as she sat down beside me.
