Next week, Remus was allowed out of the Hospital Wing and looked much better than the previous week - aside from a pretty big bruise on his cheekbone.

The Marauders agreed not to tell him that I knew. Not until we could be sure that he wouldn't freak out.

Knowing them, however, they were bound to slip, and it wouldn't take very long.

At breakfast, I noticed Remus sat talking to his flushed, clearly lying friends. I rushed over to their aid, and wrapped my arms around Remus' neck.

"Rem! You're back!"

He chuckled. "Yeah."

"How are you feeling? Do you feel better?"

"Yeah. All good, thanks. Did I miss anything?"

"Uhh, nothing interesting. I took some notes for you in our shared lessons so you wouldn't miss out."

"Aw, thanks," he smiled up at me sweetly.

God, I can't believe he's a werewolf. He's so sweet and innocent! Look at his lovely little face!

I must have pulled some sort of expression, because he furrowed his brow as he watched me.

"Is something wrong?"

"No. No! It's nothing!" I sat down beside him. "So, did you hear any juicy drama in the Hospital Wing? There's always gossip down there!"

"Uh, I can't remember anything. I was asleep most of the time."

"Oh, nevermind then."

He looked between me and the Marauders, the suspicion clear in his eyes.

"What is it? What's wrong?"

"What? What do you mean? Nothing's wrong!" James replied, voice far too high.

"You've all got that look."

"What look?" Sirius asked.

"That 'I'm lying my arse off' look. I see it all the damn time." He stared at us with such a hurt expression. "Why are you lying to me?"

I sighed, and sat down beside him. "Rem, I have to tell you something. And I know you're gonna freak out about it, which is why I didn't want to tell you immediately."

"What? What is it?"

I glanced around. "I can't say it here. In the library. Prefect's section. After curfew, yeah?"

Before he could answer, Tonks flung herself over my shoulder.

"Y/n! You'll never believe what Dorcas's gone and done!"

I cast Remus a last sorry look, before turning around with a toothy grin.

"What'd she do?"

"She's just asked me out!"
