The Gryffindor common room was buzzing with energy by the type I arrived at the party.
Xenophillius and Tonks immediately ran off to their significant others, leaving me to find the rest of the group on my own.
I ran into Peter, Mary and Lily shortly after.
"Hi guys!" I yelled over the chatter and music.
"Hiya, Vi!" Wormtail smiled.
"Where's Moony?"
"That's Remus, right?" Mary asked. I nodded.
Lily smirked. "You're just in time."
The chatter and music had quietened down out of nowhere, and the girls pointed behind me. I spun around.
Marlene and Remus were standing on top of a table, holding their wands like microphones as the starting notes of 'Don't Stop Me Now' begun playing.
Remus...
His usual baggy jumper was nowhere to be seen, replaced a cropped, long-sleeved Queen shirt and ripped, low waist jeans. His undereyes were painted in eyeliner as him and Marlene sung karaoke together.
I could've drooled.
By the time the song finished, I was cheering and clapping the loudest, and he finally noticed my presence.
He immediately jumped down from the table, running over to me and wrapping me up in his arms.
"My Moony!" I grinned, feeling the warm of his body pressed close to mine
"My Vixen!" He giggled. We pulled back and he looked me up and down, hands resting on my waist.
"You look so gorgeous," he slurred slightly, already many drinks ahead of me.
"And you look ridiculously handsome. How long did it take for Padfoot to wrestle you into this?"
He shrugged. "Wasn't paying attention 'till you got here."
I chuckled. "Alright, flirt. Where can I find a drink?"
"Over there." He nodded to a table across the room.
"Okay, stay here, big boy. I'll be right back." I pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, leaving a maroon lipstick mark.

I blinked while she slipped away like a song in the wind.
Behind me someone clicked their tongue.
"Knew you two were going out."
I spun around and saw Regulus giving me a deadpan look. I flushed.
"We're not-"
"Yeah, you are."
"Yeah, we are," I admitted. "Please don't tell everyone?"
He scoffed. "You walking around a party with her lipstick on your cheek, I don't need to tell a soul."
He took a swig of his drink.
"You're a good singer, by the way."
"Thanks," I mumbled as he walked away.
When I turned around, my eyes locked on Y/n immediately.
And she wasn't alone.
Over at the drinks table, Barty Crouch Jr was talking and adjusting his stupid spiky hair. He leaned close to her ear and whispered something stupid.
And she was laughing.
Without thinking I pushed my bottle into someone else's hands and walked over to them.
Y/n's eyes lit up as they met mine.
"Hi, Moony!" She grinned.
Barty hardly glanced at me. "Hey, Lupin."
I scrunched my nose. "Hi, Crouch." I turned back to my girlfriend. "Hello, my love."
Y/n's cheeks began to glow red. "Rem-"
Ignoring her protests, I walked behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist and resting my chin on her shoulder.
"Go on, Bart. You were saying something funny, right?" I looked up at him, one of my eyebrows raised.
He chuckled softly, and began talking about his friends and his dad or something like that.
I couldn't pay attention when I was close enough to smell Y/n's perfume.
While she nodded and hummed at his anecdotes, I began pressing innocent kisses to her neck, cheek, shoulder - everywhere I could reach.
Once the Slytherin finished his story, his eyes dropped down to me. I winked when I met his eye.
"I didn't realise you were dating," he said, finally saying something interesting enough for me to listen.
"Mhm," I hummed at the same time she protested.
"He's drunk."
"And jealous. I can tell when I'm being scared away. See you later, L/n."

I sighed as he walked away. "So much for being subtle, Moons."
Remus huffed, breath warm against my skin. "How am I supposed to help myself when you look like this?"
"You need to drink some water," I chastised.
"Or maybe you need to drink some... drinks." He continued kissing every inch of my skin, beginning to gently graze his teeth over my neck.
"Okay, how about a compromise?" I suggested, spinning around in his arms to avoid getting a hickey in the middle of the Gryffindor common room. "While I drink a butterbeer, you drink a water, 'kay?"
He squinted in thought, before nodding slowly.
"Good boy." I smiled, patting his cheek softly before escaping his grasp to grab our drinks.
We spend the rest of the night at eachother's sides - dancing, chatting, doing some more karaoke, until the countdown began.
The entire room stood staring at the single grandfather clock, as we began to chant.
"TEN!
NINE!
EIGHT!
SEVEN!
SIX!
FIVE!
FOUR!
THREE!
TWO!
ONE!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
The moment 1986 hit, Remus pulled me into the alcove leading up to his dorm and kissed me, wrapping his arms around me as mine looped around his neck.
"Happy New Year, my Moony," I whispered against his mouth.
He pulled back slightly, forehead pressed against mine. "I can't wait to spend the new year with you."
I chuckled. "1986. I have a feeling this is gonna be our year."
He kissed me once more. "'86, baby."
The two of us went to bed shortly after, a sleepy pile of giggles and kisses, unnoticed by the rest of the Marauders.
