18: Sleepovers and Gossip

"Y/n, truth or dare?" Mary asked, sitting on the floor across from me, leaning on Tonks' bed.

I laughed. "I'm not playing."

"Oh, yes you are!" Marlene protested, throwing one of my pillows at me. "You don't get to make me eat a foot-flavoured bean and then say you're not playing!"

"That is precisely why I'm not playing," I argued. "I didn't stay over Christmas for stupid dares!"

"Oh, shut up!" Lily took the pillow from my lap and hit me with it again. "Truth or dare?"

Tonks and Xen quickly copied, burying me in Tonk's pillows while the rest of the girls chanted "Truth or dare? Truth or dare?"

"Okay, okay! I surrender!" I said through laughter, raising both my hands. "Dare!"

They cheered.

"I dare you," Dorcas spoke up. "To spin in a circle and kiss whoever you end up facing."

Everyone shrieked at the suggestion. I cackled, about to climb to my feet when his face appeared in my head.

I played it off with small chuckle and said, "No way. I know for a fact that at least have of your haven't brushed your teeth yet."

Tonks rolled her eyes. "You're so boring!"

"You have to do truth now though," Lily decided.

I sighed dramatically. "Fine."

The six of them exchanged whispered suggestions until Xenophillius spoke up.

"Why are you actually refusing to kiss someone?"

I stiffened, and everyone fell silent as they stared at me.

"I... I don't want to kiss anyone here because I've been thinking... about Remus. And, in the last two days, I've gotten so... ridiculously close, that I've decided that the only person that I wanna kiss from now on is him."

I swallowed.

"So. Tomorrow, I'm gonna tell Remus how I feel."

For a moment, everyone was quiet.

Then, they exploded.

"Fucking finally!" Marlene roared, as she leapt up to stand on my bed, bouncing up and down like a child on Christmas.

"I knew it! I bloody knew it!" Dorcas declared, shaking Tonks by their shoulders.

Xen nodded slowly. "Get it, girl."

"Wait, wait, hold on a minute!" Lily shouted, hands raised in the air. "When did you nearly kiss?"

I sighed dramatically. "D'you remember yesterday when you and Prongs came to see Remus in the Hospital Wing?"

Her jaw dropped.

"Oh, my god, that's why you called me a 'cockblock'!"

I snorted, "No shit, Sherlock."

{-REMUS LUPIN-}

"For Godrick's sake, if you don't ask her out I'm going to throw you on my broom and leave you on top of Gryffindor tower."

I pulled back my bedcurtain with a sigh. "Jesus Christ, Padfoot, it's midnight. Give it a rest."

"But she has a crush on you! She literally told me!" He whispered, peering at me from his bed.

"I know, Pads, I'm just waiting for the right time."

He rolled his eyes, falling back into his bed and disappearing behind the curtain.

I was about to lay back when I frowned.

"When did she tell you?"

He pulled back his curtain with a sigh. "Last time we pranked the Hufflepuffs I went up to hide in her dorm and she thought I was Tonks. I joked that she had a crush on me and she said she only fancied you."

I sat up. "Why didn't you tell me that sooner?!"

He gave a me guilty look. "Because I forgot."

"Way to be a wingman." Rolling my eyes, I flopped back onto the bed. I sighed.

"I'll talk to her tomorrow."

Sirius pumped his fist. "Get it, Remy!"

I closed my eyes. "You're such an idiot."

He blew me a kiss before closing his curtains.
