San
[Six Months Later]
"Holy shit!" I breathed as I watched Mihi hit the ball away from out of bounds, crashing into a table in the process.
All of us were silent in worry as we wondered if she was okay but in record time she got off the ground and raced to be there for her team, taking her turn to hit the ball again which saved her team and ended up winning the game.
It wasn't like I knew much about volleyball but I always supported her whenever I could. She had worked so hard for this and I couldn't have been more proud.
Mihi came over to us with damp hair, clearly having taken a shower after her game. "That was fucking insane!"
She grinned at me. "Thanks."
"Mihi!" A voice shouted and someone weaved through the crowd to reach her. Wooyoung finally pushed out of the throng of people and I felt my heart ache so painfully I thought it'd shatter.
It wasn't like this was the first time I saw him since we decided to stay away from each other. Though it didn't make it any easier. My heart called for him whenever he was near and it was obvious to everyone around.
Including Mihi because she gave me a knowing look.
Wooyoung did his best to avoid my gaze as he congratulated her, giving her a tight hug that made her face contort in pain but she didn't complain. Her smile slipping right back on her face whenever he let her go.
She looked between us then let out an obviously fake yawn. "I hate to cut things short but I'm beat, and Yunho and Mingi are waiting for me."
I rolled my eyes, "Go get dicked down."
Her cheeks reddened as her previously uplifted mood turned into a scowl. "Asshole." She turned to leave but paused, running back towards us and giving each of us a peck on the cheek. "Thanks for coming. Seriously. I love you guys."
"Bye! I love you!" Wooyoung said in a singsong voice and we watched her disappear in the ground of people all congratulating her team.
"Hi." I said, softening for the boy in front of me.
He fought a coy smile as his eyes went to me. "Hi." He replied.
"Do you want to go get coffee?" I asked.
It was like being attacked by sunlight because his face erupted in happiness. "Are you asking me out on a date, Choi San?"
"Yes. I am." I said.
His small smile broke into a blinding grin and I couldn't explain how much I had desperately missed that smile. "Is this one day?"
I nodded. "I think so."
He leaned against me like a ball of joy and it made my heart swell. "Hell yes we're getting coffee."
I fought against the urge to press a kiss to his lips, knowing we needed to take things slow.
I loved him so much.
I finally felt like I was okay to show it.
I couldn't have been happier.
