Legend never lies, we were meant to be
I'm blessed to be alive when I'm in your company.
~Henry Moodie. When Elora woke up she found herself on a white bed in a room. There were two monitors on her right and an IV was inserted into her hand. Her entire body ached a lot.
The first two days were the hardest ones to get through. She hardly slept as the pain kept her awake. Her shoulder was the main problem. It was the most severe injury that she had and the doctor said that it would take a little time for it to get better. The rest of the wounds would take time too but not as much.
She had a lot of visitors. The first people she met, other than her parents were Emma, Blake, Cullen and Felix. They had come to see her the same evening that she arrived at the hospital. Emma almost cried. Blake said that he had to deal with all of Emma's tantrums because she wasn't there to which Elora ended up laughing at and Blake ended up getting a few threats. Cullen told her about everything that's been going on in a very detailed manner. And Felix told her that she was replaced with Kiara in the play and that it was tomorrow. Hearing that Elora did feel really bad. She had worked so hard for it and she wasn't even going to be able to go to it. Blake and Cullen promised to record the entire thing for her though which didn't really help a lot for it did to a certain level.
She hadn't yet met Matt or Milo nor any of their family members in fact. She hadn't even spoken to them. And she really did want to meet them after all they were all in this together. Edward said that they were in the same hospital as she was. And when she asked Edward why they weren't in the same room as her he said they wanted to give her privacy and that she would want to finally have a good night's rest and not complain about it being too noisy.
But the person she's been longing to meet, she hadn't met yet. It was Alex. Normally she would run away if anyone said his name. But this time she no longer wanted to run away, she wanted to hug him and thank him for all that he's done the past few weeks.
Edward and Hellen told her about how he would take care of them. He would make food for Hellen when she was sick, (which was a week ago), he would constantly call Jacob and let him know about what had been happening whenever Edward was busy. He missed College since the day she had gone missing only to help Edward find her. Even when Alessio had called Edward, Alex had not let him go alone. He was also there when they rescued her, although it was still a huge mystery why he would ever put himself in danger just to save her. The point is that Elora realised that what Emma would say about Alex was true.
He does care. He is loving when he needs and wants to be. He's there for the people he cares about.
"When is Alex coming?" Elora asked.
"He said he'd come today." Edward replied giving her some water.
"Why didn't he come yesterday?" Elora asked.
"Don't know. But for someone who hates him beyond anything, you seem exited to see him." Edward said chuckling.
"I'm not excited. I wouldn't put it that way. I just want to say thanks to him. He's done a lot." Elora said. "What about Matt and Milo?"
"They... I don't know." Edward said.
"Did you tell them to not meet me?" Edlora asked. She didn't blame her father for his decision. Of course anyone would do that. They're the Mafia for God's sake. She was in that mess because of a Mafia. But she knew that they weren't like this. They wouldn't hurt her. She knew that.
