I'd memorized the dirt road that led to the familiar building, laid with grey archaic brinks , a sense of calmness washing over my shoulders as we approached it. The sound of our feet, walking in perfect synchrony, as the gravel under crunched with each eager step we took appeared to be the tune of the evening atmosphere.

Teresa hadn't spoken much and so had I. I wondered what could've ushered in this wave of awkwardness despite the fact that we both had satirically become fond of each other. I silently vowed to make a hasty call to Gemma, tell her all about it. Maybe she'll have some kind of remedy for this?

The sun was slowly sinking under the blazing horizon, streaks of gold setting fire to the clouds above as the night begun to fall. Be it the sound of crickets chirping,or the distant crocking of a lonely toad, the ambience seemed quite peaceful. I gently sighed as I soaked in the rich earthy smell of nature.

" Glorious, isn't it?" Teresa's voiced seemed to pull me away from the calmness.

" I suppose," I sent her a fleeting glance before staring back at our feet as we walked. Perfect synchrony.

" I enjoy evening walks too ," She remarked, filling her lungs with the rich air before exhaling in content. " the beauty of the sunset, the sounds of the insects buzzing...."

" Incredible," I added, watching as a flock of birds flying south.

" God really is an artist," She'd spoken and I almost felt myself scoff. As much as I didn't believe in god, I knew me pointing that out would earn me a stern tongue lashing, furthermore, I'd lose our newly found friendship. My plans would crumble like sand.

" How so?" I chose to ask.

" I mean, just look at how magnificent the sky looks," My eyes rose, capturing the blazing orange that was the sky, some parts melting slightly into a kind of purplish streaks. " the horizon looks as though it's on fire and the sun.... it's almost setting. It looks amazing. "

Her words rung true. I could imagine god seated in an almost darkened room, by a corner, surrounded by easels, each depiction a certain beauty of art from nature, the green forests, valleys flowing with tranquil waters. I could picture him, dipping his brush in an orange paint as he painted over the firy skies of a sunset. Much as what I was staring at. I've seen pictures from numerous artists, portraying their own understanding of what a sun set would look like but nothing could compare to the real deal. If god really is real, then he really is an incredible artist.

" I wish I could just stop time for five minutes....so that I can savor this, endure this moment," I found myself confessing, my feet halting as I stared longingly at the sun , slowing being swallowed by the horizon. Teresa stopped too.

" Hey," she'd tapped me on my shoulder and my eyes darted towards her. Her lips had curved into the most attractive smile as she motioned for me to follow her. I watched as her feet carried her into the side of the dirt road, where uneven grass seemed to mellow . Her dress seemed to flag around as the evening breeze hollowed by ,as well as her veil and through the golden rays of the setting sun ,her beautiful silhouette broke through.

Glancing above her shoulder, Teresa chuckled," Come along Levi." And stopped before turning to fully face me seemingly stunned by my capricious mood as I watched in a dazed expression.

" What's wrong?" She cooed , a concerned look.

Words couldn't form properly through my transfixed moment, taken aback by how angelic she looked against the golden hue of the sun set. Like an angel. I found myself nodding sheepishly before carefully stepping into the grass, following her trail towards her.

" Are you okay?" She'd reached for my arm , her tender grip enclosed around my biceps as her eyes sought mine.

Another nod .
