The Kings Affection (King/Queen - Fanfic)

Chapter 5: The Closeness Continues..?

POV: Third Person

It's been weeks our king Hwi dressing in comfortable women clothing every night, having deep and shallow conversations with our queen as they sometime fall asleep right next to each other witch they only realize in the morning.

But today everything went back to the days our queen cried herself to sleep, because her betrothed won't join her in bed. She was happy and contented to have the one who made her heart flutter for the first time and dedicated her life to next to her every night. She thought having her king closer and in her presence is enough, ready to loose not just her life but her maidenhood or any morality she held dear to her heart until this point.

She remembered the first time seeing king Lee Hwi, how she fell in love at first sight before knowing who the king really is. Realizing she would've fallen for those eyes even if it belonged to a commoner. How her gentle touch and kind voice has captivated her.

Tears fall from her eyes as she slept through the night. The next day was brutal as well, as the king kept her distance pretty much the entire day even when the queen mother invited both to the court and constantly talking about expanding the kingdom and strengthening the royal family with the allies. To which our king diverts the conversation pretty smart to talk about citizen unrest brewing with the fall of major leaders in the country. Our queen sitting with her head down lost in her thoughts "why am I here, why would I have to be here" when everyone stop talking Our queen has realized she wasn't just having those thoughts in her head but spoke out loud as she was bored and uninterested.

When everyones eyes is on our queen and the tension intensifying of her disrespect to the court, King Hwi jumps in to break the tension, "My Queen I know you had less sleep last night, I should've not bothered you with politics today" with which queen mother intervenes "Ah, you younglings are still in honeymoon phase, I know we always talk about strengthening our kingdom and i'm happy you both are working hard as well" and the court breaks out in laughter as the queen mother is being cheeky which usually would've made our queen blush but this time she was more angry with dismay, king noticed but seems pretty smitten as how bold queen mother is in the court. 

Queens chamber:

Night rolls out and queen enters the chamber, usually she makes an effort to catch up with the king to join her for dinner or meet her in her study but today is a different story. She seems to be done with all this drama, "why would I be the one always trying to keep her secrets? Why am i willing to sacrifices everything to save her when she keeps pushing me away?" Queen walks to the bed "I would've been fine with her ignoring me before but now, what did I do wrong to deserve this?" As she walks and realize there's only one bed laid out in the chamber. "This is perfect, she won't visit my chamber today because why would she?! queen mother has announced the whole court we have been fulfilling our duties. she has no need to visit my chamber anymore" She seems furious as to walk to the kings chamber but stops "well, I may have the title but clearly I have no place to be mad at the king, she's not mine even though I can only be hers." saddened queen Ha Kyung sits next to the bed. "Ha Kyung, her heart belong to someone else, it will never be yours, if it is then you won't be alone here... crying to sleep every night, she will be here with you" Queen Ha Kyung heart trembles and her mewl recognizing how much she fell for the king and the pain of being ignored by the one she cared the most.

Queen is about to lay down as she's exhausted but hear the announcement of the king entering into her chamber. She's excited that the king chose to be here and quickly dries her eyes and adjust herself to be presentable and realize not to get her hopes up and the anger she had last night and this morning. King Hwi enters the chamber and notice how puffed the queen eyes were. Before she could speak "What can I do for you my king" she spoke too formal that's painful for the king. "do you despise me that much to be formal with me?" that one sentence with a shaky voice of the king melted her in seconds "jeon-ha.., Seems you're the one who despises me" The silence is too loud in the room when our king Hwi breaks it "can you put my hair down for me" 

'Does s-she..' Queen Ha Kyung collects her thoughts and get closer to king Hwi and lets her hair down, King turns around and does her hair and they both stay silent the entire the time as if both were lost for words. Finally the king breaks her silence "This feels nice" to that our queen responds "I missed this last night" and realizes she spoke out loud again and get embarrassed. King Hwi turns our queen towards her looking into her eyes " I missed you the whole day". It sent jitters to the spine for our queen as if she wants to kiss her right away, "do you really mean that? I was sitting right next to you in the court" and our king responds "yes but you were cold and distant" which brought all the anger back for our queen from last night and quickly her furious nature kicked in "y-you, you had two beds last night and you're the one who slept far from me, I didn't sleep the whole night and I cried in silence, you didn't bother to check on me like you used to, yes, I know how sometimes you hover over me and look at me while i sleep, I liked that but you were so mean last night.." when she sees how embarrassed King Hwi looked she realized she's talking way too much and saying thing's that she never thought would say out loud. 'whats happening to me today? why am i running my mouth too much today, I thought I can keep it together but it's getting too hard to bottle my emotions any longer' she pouts as she thinks.

 King Hwi scoots over to her still looking down with embarrassment "but you're the one who suggested to get pregnant with someone" and realize as she speaks and looks unto her "I know you want to save my identity, I know you wanted to help me but I would never want you to do that because.." she stops herself as her emotions are overwhelming. It's as if she's too unsure of her own thoughts and not knowing what's going to come out of her mouth next. "Because what.." our queen replies as if she wants the words to reflect what her kings eyes were saying all along. "because I won't allow to put you in more danger, I won't let you sacrifice more for me than you already have" King Hwi have always been good at bottling her emotions and choosing her words carefully than our queen but this hurt our queen even more, she felt she has no right to sacrifice for the one she loves, "Would you say the same thing to the tutor if I was him?" her eyes teared up as both looked at each other in pain.
