The Kings Affection (King/Queen - Fanfic)

Chapter 11: The Event Continues...

POV: Third Person

Night before the Event at Queens chamber:

Everyone seems anxious, "I kept some guards ready if anything unexpected happens tomorrow, it's not a lot as many of my trusted ones are out to get the cousin but some are fiercely loyal to me and will protect you if anything happens during the gathering tomorrow. you just need to follow to safety with the court lady and eunuch Hong without rebelling my queen.." King hwi voice out her concern as she's unable to sleep. "shhh.. stop thinking about it too much" a caring voice whispered around kings ears as her hands caressed her cheeks to calm her down.

"I know you always had weight of the world on your shoulders.. but relax" her gentle tap on her chest seems to help the king calm down a little "I believe in queen mother. She was very supportive of me when I stayed back to care for you. Because of her, I was able to keep your identity intact when the court lady and eunuch Hong was arrested as well. As you said it might just be a celebration to bring some distraction after a huge incident that shocked the nation." We all clearly hope that's about it as well. 

The Gathering Event:

The next morning went as usual, everyone in the palace seems super excited as the celebration seems bigger as the hour got closer to the event. not knowing the occasion made bigger curiosity, attracting wider crowd of politicians, merchants and civilians, all kinds of rumour was spreading as per usual but everything seems positive and some ridiculously funny. Ministers where little anxious as there might be new rules to hinder their wealth building further, as the government seems to run for the people now than for some wealthiest and corrupt politicians like in the past.. and the king and queen looked stunningly beautiful as a couple. last night 'comfort session' after their exchange may also be the reason, regardless even with all suspicion of the king they looked vibrant and happy.

When everyone gathered awaiting queen mothers presence, some started to get closer to the royal couple and congratulated with so much excitement unable to control themselves. Before we could figure out comes queen mother and with her strong tone welcomed the king and queen closer to her and as holding each other close she says "today is the auspicious day as I happily announce, this kingdom welcomes the new heir of this thrown growing strong and steady for months now" it stunned the crowd as everyone rejoice and share praise and happiness for the king and the queen but shocked our king and queen the most. Looking confused they quietly accept the love and blessings. What else could they do? come out to the crowd the queen is not pregnant, the king is a woman and they both are in a romantic relationship but it's biologically challenging to conceive a child!

When the party is over queen mother looked at the king and queen, who all seem to have too many questions, "you two better start preparing for what's coming" she said as everyone left and now they're the ones stayed behind to make sense of everything that's going on. The royal physician enters as per queen mothers command. Now the king, queen, court lady, eunuch Hong, the physician, queen mother and 2 of her trusted old companions present she started talking "I'm glad you two kept your act as a couple very well for the kingdom" shocked king and queen look at each other. courageous king Hwi starts talking "I knew you know about my secret" anger raised in her voice as she removes her hold from the queen and moves towards queen mother "we all know the queen is not pregnant, then why would you make such an announcement to the whole kingdom, why would you make it a huge deal for everyone to know? what were you planing.." as she hedges queen mother screams back at her "because of you.. you, you're the one who's pregnant" everyone stares and the silence in the room is sickening.

The announcement that rocked the world of the king but our queen is too weak to handle the news as well. "what are you saying" king hwi looked distorted and still in denial of what she heard. queen mother calms down and walks towards the king, "I know you would like to declare you're a woman and run away with your lover into the sunset and live a happily ever after life, but this is real life, there's a kingdom that you destabilized to eradicate corruption, the people who fought for you to be alive, and kept your secrets and stood by you from your birth, your subjects now looks upto you for protection and to clear the mess so they can have a better prosperous life for ones.. " her eyes had more compassion now than before. "you can not runaway from this, you shaken something you shouldn't have touched in the first place.. now you can't quit halfway, because if you do, everyone who stood by you for all along will be dead"

Everyone looked super stunned and didn't dare to interrupt queen mother. "I raised your father, if he can keep a secret so can I, but when the physician found out you're pregnant after you had poison, we thought the child may not survive. that's why we don't want to ruffle the feathers but now after all this time, it was told to me that the child growing inside you shows great recovery and healthier sign. Just as strong like it's mother, fighting and growing stronger every day and surviving with all odds." her motherly hands caressed the kings belly then her face. it's not long, you might start to show so we have to make the announcement to have a better arrangement for the heir to this thrown growing inside you." it still is too early to digest all this.

POV: King hwi

What is this, how, well It's just that one time.. but i dont know how to process this news, even with all this queen mother is saying, before anything all i could think of is how will the queen react to this news. that's the first thing ran in my mind. I turn to the queen as she fell on the ground, i ran to her "my queen" She fainted, how ironic. my poor queen "forgive me queen mother, we can speak about this later" I quickly asked the queen to be moved to her chambers and checked.

Writers Note:

Huff.. that's a heavy news to digest for anyone but for our couple with newly formed romance and deep emotions.. its one hell of a conversation ready to happen which i'm eager to see how it goes.
