"I'm glad you're recovering fast cousin" king hwi welcomed a visit from her cousin and the guard still accompanying him. "All thanks to your guard, he has not just saved me from my captors but taken care of me very well" they both share a warm glance. "i'm glad to hear that" king hwi acknowgdlge his dedication and continues "when was the last time you saw the tutor and how you two got separated" her pause turned into curiosity quickly. "last time was during the fight, I was taken as the captors, thought i'll be more valuable for ransom. when they heard the news about you poisoned your grandfather and your strict regime against corruption following your recovery, they want to wait out and not want to make any sudden moves to be in your radar, waiting for the better time" he explains and shared all his journey then asks "I heard the queen is expecting" his pause stated what he's hinting on.
"it's actually me, i'm the one who's expecting" king hwi was straight to the point. There's no reason for hiding it from him. "uh, I knew why you wanted to know about the royal tutor but the urgency, I understand" he says with a defeated face. "well, i'm not sure whether my heart belongs to him anymore but I do wish for his safe return just as much as yours my dear cousin" her words seems to cheer him. He's well aware of the newly found romance in the palace. "I'll do my best with my influence to find what has happened to him" he says as he leaves the study. King hwi never doubts his dedication.
The Queen Mothers summon:
When King hwi arrived as queen mother summoned her, she did notice the queen, the court lady and Hong precent already. "are you feeling better my queen" she enquires about the queen then turns to the queen mother. "I will comply with anything you say queen mother but leave the queen out of this" king hwi ready to fight with her. "I'm trying to make everything right, unlike you" queen mother had a sharp reply. "jeon-ha, listen to her, just one time..." the queens concerned voice pops up trying to hold king hwi. "how can i listen when she watched him order me to death because i'm a twin and a girl... .. my father, her son got killed by my grandfather who made him a puppet king for decades then him use me the same later" king hwi pent-up frustration came to light.
"because of that i'm now trying to keep you in power. your grandfather was way too powerful and you know it, but most of his defence got weakened, thanks to you. now it's my turn to save you and keep you in power" she explained her concerns. still furious king hwi responded "Now the cousin is here, I will gladly give this kingdom to him, declare my womanhood and accept whatever fate the crown holds upon me, just let the queen and my loyal servants out of this" king hwi tries to protect everyone she loves and to remove herself from the crown as much as she can, now she had to care about this child as well, coz only she knows the real wait for this title.
"What would you think will happen if that where to be executed?" the queen mother paused "your already weakened clan will now be handled by another power hungry ministers. This kingdom is not in shambles because the people are with you, if they know you were deceiving them all along then whoever you pass on the title to will be crucified alongside you. His position will weaken and the corruption continues as there's no true leader to unite them for a cause and the crown as liars." queen mother is furious now. "I'm not asking you to stay as a king, because you have to. what i'm asking you is to stay and rule the kingdom as you see fit. i have seen my grandfather, father, my son rule but you're the one who truly bought change for the people of this kingdom. This is your right, no one cares you're a man or a woman as long as you play your part well" she did play it well for decades now.
The confusion continues as king hwi truly understand the depth of this situation more clearly now "what are you suggesting, how long you want me to play this part? even if i want to, the child growing inside me can't wait, I can't keep being a king with a child" King Hwi concern was clear and justifiable. Queen mother continues "we have a plan, she calls in few more reinforcements, her trusted physician, midwives, few retired guards and a minister enters "We will send the queen to her fathers place stating he needs to practice their tradition of birthing order, after few months when you started to show, you can move as well but rather to her father we move both of you to a secluded area near the mountains where you can give birth in peace, we can say the crown wanted secure birth, when everything goes well, you both be returned to the kingdom as nothing happened"
This plan could work, "I want my cousin to be in charge during my absence" king hwi claims, to which queen mother responds "as you wish".
Queens Chamber that night:
"Do I have to leave before you? Can't we both leave together?" queens concerned voice takes over as she hugged king hwi. "well, just few months apart and you can write me love letters like you used to, but this time i will read them all and respond to every single one of it right away." king hwi trys to make light of that situation but they are going to miss each other terribly.

Time laps:
As king hwi started showing quickly after few weeks of the queens departure, they had to exponentially speed up their plan. The cousin was provided clear instructions to keep the country stable. Both king & the queen now arrived at this beautiful secluded forest near mountains to have a birth of their baby. The queen walked on the fields hugging her king from behind, she was excited to receive her kings sweat kisses on her cheeks "jeon-ha this is like the first time away from the palace just us two as a couple, and I missed you very much" she plants a gentle kiss on her king. "it's only been few weeks my queen, maybe just like its mother the baby missed you too, so he showed up quickly wanting to see you" king hwi returns those sweat kisses. "he..? no, i want a girl just like you, just as handsome and courageous" king hwi questions, "not as strong?" queen stars to joke about "well, you're skilled but strength has never been your strong suit" giggling and pointing her small shoulders and a slender body then she stops right away "oh the kingdom needs a male heir right" her excitement deteriorated "it's ok we can have a boy just like you want" the queen backtracks her statement.
king hwi at first pouts then moved her little closer, takes her hands, wrap them around her now swollen belly "now all I want to give you is a girl, just like you wish" she turns and kiss her soft lips. the queen gets shy and quickly turns her attention to the baby "the way you're growing maybe you'll have a boy and a girl just like you and your brother" her words did create a concern in king his face.
