The living in Cullen's house was going smoothly. And although everyone knew why they were here it seemed like everyone had been able to push those negative thoughts in the back of their minds. Everyone was talking with each other and sharing stories.

The only ones who didn't talk with each other were Eve and Garrett. They haven't spoken a word after the short 'hello' they said to each other a few days ago.

They both felt the mate bond and the pull. Eve was better in hiding it than Garrett who was glancing at the black haired woman every moment he could.

Rosalie was helping Eve to deal with the new emotions that overwhelmed her. The two spent a lot of time together making them become good friends quickly.

The two nomads Eve and Garrett couldn't help but learn new things about each other. Eve had learned that Garrett liked to talk a lot. Always telling stories that seemed to never end. He always had a new story ready to be told. Don't get me wrong, the stories were interesting, she couldn't say otherwise. Eve has realized how meticulous the man was. His beard and mustache neatly trimmed, he seemed to only wear dark clothes such as different shades of brown, black and sometimes dark blue.

Eve wasn't the only one who had noticed these new small things. Garrett always looked at Eve's long hair. The way it swayed while she walked and how soft and silky it looked. She seemed to become anxious and overwhelmed easily in a big crowd. And when she did she went to her room to be alone. She seemed to be the most comfortable with Rosalie. They had become good friends. Garrett wouldn't admit it but he was a bit jealous. He was happy that Eve had someone to talk to but deep inside him he wanted to be that someone. Although he wouldn't say it out loud. If you ask him it was only the mate bond making his head fuzzy. And her smile... it felt like every time she smiled he smiled.

Garrett was standing on the other side of Cullens living room and keeping an eye on her while trying to look like he didn't.

"Garrett." Carlisle came to talk to him. "Why are you standing here alone?"

"No reason." The man shrugged.

"Why don't you go talk to her?" Carlisle smiled.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"I did see you eyeing her. You can't try and deaden a mate bond."

"And right now she hears our conversation very clearly. So can we just stop."

"Whatever you want." Carlisle said and walked away.

Garrett turned his gaze back towards Eve only to see the werewolf Jacob approaching her.

"Eve was it?" He asked.

Eve nodded. "Yes."

"I just realized that I haven't yet introduced myself so I decided to do that."

"It's nice to meet you Jacob."

"You too. Thank you for coming and willing to help. So I heard you have a lot of experience of those red eyed, blood suckers?"

She gave him a pointed look which made him continue.

"No offense." Jacob said remembering that she has red eyes as well.

"Non taken. And yes I was one of them a long time ago."

And so the two fell into a conversation about Eve's life before coming here. She told him that she was a nomad and had traveled around the world a lot. She told him that she was living in Paris, France where Carlisle and Esme came to find her.

"How did you feed yourself?" Jacob asked.

"I drink from humans like you can see from my eyes, but only from the bad ones." She explained.

"What do you mean by bad ones?"

At this point Benjamin, Rose and Emmett had joined them. Garrett wanted to join them too but when he was very curious at the same time he was stubborn.

"When I was in Volturi we ate from innocent humans. Usually tourists who were brought to us. They thought they were going to have a tour around the castle but when they were led into the throne room we fed ourselves. So when I left I decided to eat from only bad humans. Usually murderers, rapists and other humans who have no rights to walk on this earth."

"How did you know who were bad people and who not?" Jacob asked.

"I watched and observed them. I came to figure out who was not worth letting live. It took a bit of learning but I managed. And I did it slowly and as painfully as possible. Those people don't deserve a quick and easy death."

"Almost like Edward when he first became a vampire." Rosalie said.

"So how does this feeding thing work while all of you are here? Since not all of you drink from animals like Cullens." Jacob asked.

"Carlisle is going to bring some of us further away to feed. We are going to help you to get used to animal blood." Emmett explained.

"So more patrols for us. Great." Jacob rolled his eyes.

"Nothing will happen." Emmett assured.

"And we will start to train in a few days. Well it's mostly training Bella but the rest of us can help and train too." Rose said.

"Do you have a gift Eve?" Jacob asked.

Eve didn't say anything, just took a small step back. Garrett could feel the sudden change in her.

"Excuse me." She said and walked out of the room and to her own.

"What did I do?" Jacob asked.

"Nothing. You couldn't have known. She doesn't like to talk about her gift."
