Weeks have gone by and the day for training has been set. Although the snow wouldn't stick to the ground for a while, it was good to start early.
Today Carlisle and Esme returned with the last witness, Alistair. Eve watched from the window how the three vampires got out of the car. Edward and Bella walked up to them.
"How many came?" Carlisle asked Edward. Both Carlisle and Esme had been away for a bit to get the last witness so they wanted to hear how many witnesses they already have.
"Nineteen." Edward answered. "You have some good friends."
"And Alice?" Esme asked Bella but she shook her head.
"Well we'll all be on Aro's list now. Centuries on the run and that's when you brought me. Some friend Carlisle." Alistair spoke up.
"Alistair, come meet everyone." Carlisle smiled at the blonde man.
"I already told you. If it comes to a fight I won't stand against the Volturi."
"It won't come to a fight." Carlisle reassured his friend.
"I'll be in the attic." Alistair said and jumped on the roof of Cullen's house. He took one last glance of the others down on the ground before disappearing from sight.
When Eve saw that Carlisle and the others walked inside the house she walked to the living room too.
"Our last witness Alistair has arrived. Once again thank you everyone for coming. Now that all of us are here we probably should talk about how the feeding works." Carlisle spoke up.
"We are going to go a bit further away from the area where we usually hunt. We are going in groups." Edward continued.
"How about those who drink from humans?"
"You either drink from animals or don't feed yourself at all. Drinking from humans isn't an option."
Rosalie turned to Eve. "What do you say? You would usually drink from humans. How about now?"
"It might feel weird for a while, but I'm willing to try animal blood." Eve answered. "Although it wasn't long when I last fed myself so I don't have to eat now."
"We will be going in three groups." Carlisle spoke again. "The first with me."
Carlisle and three others left the house to go hunting, leaving the other groups to wait their turn. Eve decided to go back to her room since she wasn't going to feed herself today.
Eve went to her room and sat on the couch to read a book. She was pulled into the story of the book.
*Knock,knock*
Knock was heard from the door, Renesmee and Rosalie peaked in the room behind the door.
"Can we come in?" Rose asked and Eve nodded.
"Yes." She put the book away.
Eve sat on the couch and Rosalie came to sit next to her, Renesmee sat on top of a pillow on the floor.
"How are you?" Rosalie asked.
"I'm good." Eve nodded and smiled.
"Do you feel okay?"
"I feel fine." Eve answered.
"Are you and Garrett in love?" Renesmee asked suddenly.
Eve's eyes widened slightly. The question caught her off guard a little bit. "No. We are not." Eve shook her head and gave the girl a small smile.
"Why aren't you together? I can see that you like each other." Renesmee furrowed her eyebrows.
"It's complicated." Eve answered.
"How? You just talk and be with each other."
"You see, both me and him are nomads. That means that we live and travel alone and not with a coven like your family or your cousins." Eve explained to Renesmee. "For me this feels a bit weird since I have been alone for such a long time."
"No one should have to be alone." Renesmee said. "But you are not alone anymore and neither is Garrett." She smiled.
In the Cullens living room Carlisle, Esme and Garrett talked.
"How do you feel about all of this?" Esme asked Garrett.
"It's not like you get to be against the redcoats everyday." Garrett chuckled.
"I meant Eve and you two being mates." Esme smiled gently.
"It's new. And a bit weird." Garrett shrugged.
"Have you two talked yet? You can try and fight the mate bond but every day it gets stronger and pulls you together." Carlisle said.
"We haven't talked." Garrett answered. "Maybe we should."
"That sounds good. Start small. Spend time together and get used to each other." Esme smiled at the man and took her husband's hand in hers.
"I'm going to go and talk with her now." Garrett explained to Esme and Carlisle, making the couple smile and nod. He didn't know where the sudden burst of need to talk to the woman came but he followed this pull.

Garrett walked towards Eve's room and when he was almost there, Rosalie and Renesmee walked past him.
"Is she in there?" Garrett stopped to talk to the two and pointed at the room where they just came out of.
"She is." Renesmee smiled happily and nodded.
Garrett knocked on the door...
