What's this story about?
It follows Jay Walker, who had some very bad luck.
Stripped of everything and suffering more than enough, he's thrown into a new world where he must fight to survive, rebuild himself, and search for peace. Expect new characters, battles, trauma, and redemption, with Jay's lightning powers at the core.
Do I need to know Ninjago?
Nope, you don't need to.
Ninjago is a very cool show about six ninjas tied to 6 different element. Jay is the master of lightning and was the focus of Seasons 6 and 12, while his lover Nya, the master of water water, was the focus in Seasons 5 and 15.
For this story, everything up to Season 12 is canon - after that, the story diverges.
If you want more background, the Ninjago Wiki has details, but you can enjoy this story simply as it is.
Why Jay and Ninjago?
I've followed Ninjago since I was eight, and I wanted to write about betrayal in a world where it felt impossible. Jay, with his lightning powers and funny personality, made him the perfect protagonist.
Also, I might have some bias towards my favorite ninja :)
