I zipped up my suitcase "you guys about to head out?" "yea im finishing packing now. our flight leaves in a couple of hours" I say looking at my phone screen and seeing lando smile at me.
from late night phone calls over the last weeks and text constantly im ready to see him again but I dont want to admit that.
a few of our conversations were him ranting about how the new Red Bull driver l/n. aka me but he dont know. had won the race in Azerbaijan so everyone is talking about it and basically theres a target on my back.
is that going to stop me from winning? absolutely not.
"you ready to go?" Kate walked in and then saw me on the phone "hey lando" she says "hey Kate" he says "yea im ready" I say and she walks out
"alright Ive got to go I will see you soon hopefully" "okay let me know when you land please" he says. we say our goodbyes and hang up.
I roll my bag out of my room to the living room. I grab my backpack and throw the things I need in it then close it.
I go into the room with all my gear and start packing it into a suitcase. I pick out the helmet im going to wear this weekend and we head out to the airport with Kates dad and Melissa to Miami.

its Thursday meaning were supposed to do a pitwalk and talk about the game plan for this weekend and everything else.
I pulled on my shorts and a blue crop top and my vans. I brushed my hair and pulled on my Red Bull hat. Kate and I aren't sharing a room this time like normally so I didnt have to worry about waking her up. I grabbed my phone and walked out of my hotel room and to the elevator and head to the track.

After a few meetings I was walking with my engineer on the track and 2 of the other team members as we talked about the track and the car.
When I got a text
I check my phone and see a text from kate
Kate- you going tonight?
Me- going where?
Kate- ummm Nevermind
Me- nope kate tell me
Then I got a text from lando
Lando🧡- hey a bunch of the guys and I are going out on a yacht and everyone's bringing someone so I wanted to know if you wanted to go with me but if not it's totally okay
I smile at the text
Me- of course. Although I am busy right now
Lando🧡- it'll be later in the day around 5
Me- alright
I text kate back
Me- yea I'm going
Kate- good that scared me I didn't wanna go without you
Me- well you'll probably have kika and Kelly it's okay
Kate- yea how we gonna say we know them? We met them at the club the other day?
Me- yea sounds good to me
I put my phone away and continue what we were doing before walking back to the garage
in the garage was max. he gives me a Side hug "I heard about the other night" he says I give him a funny look "dont tell anyone" "I won't im just glad everything was okay" he says "yea everything's good"
after a little bit of talking max and I ended up leaving at the same time "lando invite you to the yacht?" he ask "he did how'd you know?" I give him a funny look "well I dont know just a guess since most of the guys are bringing there girlfriends" "were not together" I say "I know but still" "yea yea so ill see you later" I say as we split ways and I walk to my car and get in and head back to the hotel.

I knock on Kates door and she opens it smiling "where you been?" she ask "the paddock? where you been?" I laugh "dad, Melissa and I went and got some food" "without me? rude" "I know you ate at the paddock dont even" she says as she walks back in the bathroom.
