I walk into the mclaren garage and smile at the engineers looking at me. I look around and dont see who im looking for. lando.
"hey y/n" Oscar grabs my attention. I look over and he was talking with a girl he gestures me over. he gives me a side hug "y/n this is my girlfriend lily. lily this is y/n. landos g-" "were just friends" I stop him. she smiles at me and opens her arms for a hug and I return it. "its nice to meet you" "did you just fly in?" "yea I got here this morning" she smiles. "well Im sure Oscar is glad your here we should get together sometime" I smile "we definitely should"
I turn to Oscar "are you looking for lando?" he ask "no...maybe" I hesitate "hes not here" he says messing with his hands. and looking at his girlfriend. "he was pretty mad after the crash with l/n he took a walk and I haven't see him since" "oh okay" I say "you know hes always hard on himself" "was he with-" "no we kicked Brynn out earlier this morning I think she migrated to another garage" he laughs "you like him dont you" lily ask. "I um I cant" I say looking down at my feet "what do you mean you cant?" "its a long story but yea I guess im falling for lando norris which is terrifying" I say and they smile at me. "loves scary but if its meant to be it'll be" lily says looking up at Oscar and he looks own at her and smiles. I sat in my driver room looking though the data on my computer and listening to music
I was flipping through the file beside me and thinking about what I could do differently.
like lando I was also hard on myself as we already know.
the door to my room opened and I pulled out my ear bud looking. It was Kate. "what the hell are you dong here so late?" she ask. "I could ask you the same" I say fixing the mess beside me so she can sit down. "been working with Christian and the engineers" she says resting her head on my shoulder looking at my computer. "its like 10 you know that right?" she ask yawning "I let time slip away I guess" I say closing my computer. "Im sleepy" she groans "what if I fucked up to much this weekend already im going to loose my spot on the team" "why do you think that?" "because im a girl. its easier for the guys to get away with it. what if this is my last race tomorrow?" "will you shut up your fine" she laughs a little "you ready to go?"I ask and she didnt move. "I got offered a spot of one of the strategy engineers" she mumbles but I heard her. I jumped up "DO WHAT!" I yell excited she had. fallen over from my absence. she sits up and smiles at me "you joking Kate" I say. she shakes her head standing up I engulf her in a hug "thats amazing Kate im so happy for you" I say "thank you" she says "does anyone know?" I ask. she shakes her head "nope" "well im so happy for you" "its not set in stone yet I haven't accepted the offer from Christian yet" she say "whats stopping you?" I ask "nothing I just need to take it in for a minute" she says. I collect my things and clean up my mess as she was on her phone
"y/n" she says randomly I look at her confused. "Kate" "look" she shows me her phone. its me and lando arguing on the track. "you and lando are trending right now" I take her phone from her and scroll through all the tweets. from the videos and tweets of us two being the biggest rivals on the grid. to videos of the crash and edits of the crash and how we both looks when we walked away. to rumors and it was all overwhelming. I hand Kate her phone back. "it'll be okay" she says turning her phone off. "everyone hates me now" I say "no they dont. everyone just curious of what the argument was. what even did he say?" she ask "he said something about just because I was in Red Bull dont give me a free pass or something its been bothering me" "he didn't mean it. its just lando you know hes competitive and hard on himself" she says I nod
she checks the time "lets get out of here" she says as I grab my phone and we walk out of my room and start making our way out and to the car.

I scanned my key and Kate pushing the door open. we had picked up Chinese food on the way back to the hotel
she shut the door behind me
we sit on the bed and dig in and watch a movie
when Kates phone started ringing "hello?" "yea im in y/n's room" she says and them gives my room number I look at her confused.
"who? what?" then there was a knock on the door.
she gets up after taking another bite and goes and opens the door.
im walked Charles, Carlos, pierre, and George Kate hugged Charles. and then they all looked at me "hey boys" I laugh "hey y/n" they all say In unison "Im suprised lando isn't here" Carlos says. I throw a pillow at him "I actually haven't seen lando" I say to them. they look confused. "thats weird" George says.
George comes over and sits in front of me "oo thats looks good" he says "we all need to go out before the race weekends over and you guys head back home" pierre says to us "yea we definitely should" I say
we talk for a little bit before it was late and they left so they could be ready for tomorrow they said.
soon after Kate left and I headed to bed as well.
