I smiled as I noticed Shilo watching me as I completed a series of flips before waving to the crowd. We weren't in an official relationship yet but we'd been on several dates, I was sure he'd ask me to be his girlfriend soon enough.

During a time out in the game he walked over to where I sat with the rest of the cheerleading squad, offering me a water.

"Here you go my lady." he said with a smile, "Thanks Shi." I said taking it from him and taking a sip.

"After the game do you want to grab dinner? I wanted to talk to you about something." he asked, "Yea we can do that." I said trying to contain my excited.

He smiled placing a kiss on my cheek before jogging off to rejoin the rest of his team. I was eager for the game to end as I stood on the sidelines watching the game with the girls.

"You look impatient." my friend Harper said, "I am, I got a date after the game."

"Oouu is he finally going to ask you to be his girlfriend?" she asked now excited, "I think so, I hope he gives me time to change. I really want—"

I was interrupted by being bulldozed by one of the players on the opposing team. I wasn't sure where he'd come from, all I knew is I felt like I got hit by a truck.

"Oh my god Maddie are you okay?" Harper said now crouching down next to me

"I'm so sorry" the player said from a distance.

I had gotten the wind knocked out of me, so talking wasn't really an option. Shilo came into my line of sight, shoving past the player that had bumped into me and kneeling beside me with the medic on my other side.

"You okay Maddie?" he asked concerned and I nodded weakly.

"This is embarrassing..." I mumbled as they put me on a stretcher and carried me to the back.

After they checked everything out I was bruised and sore, but overall okay. The game had ended and Shilo was anxiously waiting for me in the tunnel.

"Hey superstar, you look like you're in pain." he said making me chuckle "I am, but it's okay. We still going on our date?" I asked because that was all I'd been thinking about.

"Nah you had enough excitement for the day." he said making me frown, "Don't be sad princess, we still gone hang out."

He gently placed his arm around me as we started to walk. "You know I think that guy was just jealous that my girlfriends a cheerleader so he tried to take you out."

I couldn't hide the smile on my face as he gave me a knowing look.

"Yea I think so too."
