"C'mon y/n! Walk faster!"

Your younger nephew said as he tugged on your hand, pulling you along with him down the sidewalk and to the next house. You sighed a little as you followed behind him, carrying the big box that contained the smaller boxes of cookies in one arm. He was selling boy-scout cookies and so far he's only sold 4 boxes, and there were still quite a few boxes left. You were helping him because it was Friday and you had nothing better to do anyway.

You were walking through a somewhat more rich neighbourhood because people here seemed to be more willing to buy the cookies from your nephew, probably because they had their own kids. Your nephew, Elijah, pulled you up the stairs to the next house, an excited smile on his face as he stood up on his tippy toes to reach for the doorbell. After a few seconds the door opened.

You felt your heart stop for a moment.

"Hi sir!! Would you be interested in buying some cookies?" Elijah asks as he gestures to the cart full of cookie boxes.

Satoru smiles down at Elijah and nods. "Sure, I'll take two boxes of chocolate and one vanilla." He says and then looks over at you, his smile turning into a small grin. "Hey, y/n."

You felt your heart beat a little faster when you locked eyes with him and you smiled. "Hi sir- Satoru." You catch yourself, remembering that he allowed you to call him by his first name outside of university. Elijah smiled in excitement and picked up two boxes of chocolate cookies and one vanilla like Satoru wanted, then handed them to him and continued smiling.

"$12 sir! Thank you so much!!" Elijah says excitedly as he cups his hands together and holds them up to Satoru, waiting for the money.

Satoru nodded. "Hm, give me a second I need to get my wallet." He says as he disappears back into his house for a moment. You ruffled Elijah's hair and congratulated him for being able to sell three boxes instead of one this time. Just then another little boy walked by the door and when he saw Elijah he smiled and ran to the door.

"Eli!"

Elijah smiles and does a little jump in excitement. "Tsuki!!" They both embrace each other and then Elijah looks up at you. "Y/n! Can I play with him for a while? He's my friend from school! Pleaseeeee?" He asks and gives you puppy dog eyes. You sighed softly, you just wanted to get this cookie selling over with and go back to your apartment since it was hot, so you opened your mouth, about to softly and politely tell Elijah that he couldn't.

"Of course you can, go on to the backyard you two." Satoru said, appearing again just at the right moment before you had the chance to decline and the two boys ran off towards the backyard excitedly.

The only reason Satoru said yes was because this would give him a chance to talk and be alone with you..

He looked down at you and smiled. "Here you go." He says and then takes your hand before you can react and places the $12 in your palm. You felt butterflies erupt in your stomach from his touch. "Come in, I don't want you waiting out in the heat." He says and steps aside so you could come in. You were going to decline but then thought about it.. you really didn't want to wait outside for Elijah because for all you know he could be off playing for hours, so you stepped into the house.

Perfect.

"Woah.." You whisper underneath your breath as you glance around the house. Satoru's house was very clean but also fancy since, well, this was a rich neighbourhood. The floorboards were a deep, soft brown and when you looked to the left you saw the kitchen, the cupboards were a matte black and there was a black and gold marble island in the middle of the kitchen. To the right was the living room with a big black leather couch, two comfortable looking leather chairs and a big flat screen TV mounted on the wall, there was also a short rectangular glass table in front of the couch and a fluffy grey carpet underneath everything. The couch was decorated with navy blue pillows and a soft white blanket which was folded neatly.
