You heard heavy sighs of stress and annoyance around you.

Satoru had assigned those pages because he knew that not everyone would read them, and now everyone had to write an essay based off of the pages. Thankfully, you had read them. After that little incident at Suguru's apartment you had to get your mind off of what occurred, so when you got home last night you just distracted your mind by reading up on the assigned pages, and oh how glad you were that you did.

You had your laptop open in front of you, the pads of your fingers colliding with the keyboard keys as you typed away. You felt eyes on you, though you didn't even have to look up to know who it was, but you did anyways. Your eyes met Satoru's and he gave you a smirk, almost as if he were proud that you followed his instructions and read the pages, though you always did. You couldn't afford to fail in university, you swore you'd change after high school.. no more procrastination.

Your eyes travelled back to the screen in front of you, you were halfway done with the essay, only two more paragraphs to write and you'd be all done.. maybe he'd even let you leave early. Taking a sip of your water you let out a small sigh and continued, your brain spitting out words as you recalled the information that you had read. Although.. in the back of your mind you couldn't forget what had happened with Suguru. The way he had ended up on top of you, his long, smooth black hair framing his handsome face... No. You shook your head, you had to focus. What happened between Suguru and you was just a friendly accident, you told yourself.

You popped some aspirin into your mouth and swallowed it down with some water, sighing as you stood behind the counter of your job. The bookstore was rather empty today, not that you minded.. at least there wasn't that annoying group of junior high kids who think they're all that walking up and down the aisles while talking about how "Josh totally likes me, you guys". You checked the time on your phone and it read 5:45 pm... just two more hours and you'll be able to go home and relax. You zoned out and your mind began to wander. Maybe you'll take a warm bath? Maybe a nap.. or maybe a bath and then a nap, or a nap and then a bath. However your thoughts were interrupted when the sound of the door opening caught your attention. You looked over and saw a woman walking in. She was on the phone with someone, her hair was dirty blonde and she was wearing a tight purple dress that stopped just above her knees and with it a black fur coat. She looked rich, you thought.

You didn't pay much attention, she was just wandering up and down the aisles, though it looked like she was looking for a specific book. However.. she uttered a certain sentence that caught your attention, and not in a good way.

"Satoru? Oh yeah don't worry, I'll be able to do it."

You hear her say.

Why was she mentioning Satoru? Who was she on the phone with? How did she know Satoru? A thousand questions ran through your mind as the woman's, now annoying to you, voice echoed throughout the bookstore. Then, you heard something that made your heart stop for a moment.

"Satoru won't be able to resist my charm, I've always gotten every man that I wanted and I'll get him too."

..What?

"Mhm, yeah and I have dinner with him tonight."

...

What.

You felt like you were going to throw up. Alright maybe that was an exaggeration... but was it? Who was this woman and why was Satoru having dinner with her tonight..?

Your mind immediately began to swarm with horrible thoughts. He was just using you for his own pleasure. You were too young and naive, you were so easy for him. He didn't care about you, he just wanted to use you as a toy for his selfish desires.

You bit the inside of your cheek. You didn't want to let your horrible thoughts get to you, but it was hard not to let them considering the fact that he was literally going to have dinner with another woman tonight. Was this really all you were to him? Some kind of object for his desires? It really stung, that thought. It stung a whole lot more than you expected it to.

"Uhm, hello?"

You snap out of your thoughts when you hear that woman's voice call out to you. You glance up and see that she was standing across from you, her hands on her hips and a book slid across the counter. You wanted to punch her.

"Sorry about that, ma'am." You apologize and pick up the book, scanning it. She rolls her eyes but says nothing, instead she just watches your every move like a hawk. You place the book into a small brown paper bag and slide it over to her. "Your total will be $25.99."

The woman takes out her credit card and taps the machine, the usual beep rings out as the card gets approved. You tear the receipt out of the machine and slip it into the bag.

"Have a nice day, thank you for shopping here." You say kindly, giving her a fake smile to which she returns with an even faker smile. Such a stuck up bitch. She takes the bag and leaves the store, the door opening and closing as the clacking of her heels disappear along with her. As you're left once again in the silence you just stand there, thinking. Maybe you interpreted it the wrong way? Maybe she's just... a friend? But then why would she be talking about winning Satoru over?

You felt your head ache with pain, seems like the aspirin didn't help much. Just then your phone vibrates in your pocket and with a small sigh you pull it out to see what the notification was from. It was a message from none other than Satoru himself.

"Hey babygirl, just wanted to let you know that I'll be busy marking essays tonight so if you can't reach me then that's why."

Essays huh? Seems like he has no problem lying to you.

You stared at the message with a sour expression on your face and let out a small scoff, sliding the phone back into your pocket, you felt like the human version of bitterness right about now.

"I'll reply later." You muttered to yourself as you watched another customer walk in. You put on your fake but convincing smile.

"Welcome."
