About two days later, Min-Sun woke up early pocketing the note and then collecting her laptop as well as books trying to get ready for the day. She had forgotten the previous day to pack the note in her bag, but today she was determined to go to the police station.
While packing she tried to figure out how she was going to get to the police station. Or when she would have the time to go. She was in class nearly all day today and then she worked in the library later in the day. Her next problem would be escaping the worried glances of her friends.
Hyunjin had not only warned Min-Sun about staying out late, he had in fact told everyone about how he wanted at least someone with her at all times. Needless to say, they were all taking it very literally. Yesterday Chan had stuck to her like glue and if he wasn't with her then Lee Know was. He complained a whole lot, but he was good company after a little while.
This morning though, as she walked about of her shared home with Felix and Jeongin, Haewon and So-Hee were both outside waiting.
She glanced over to her friends with a smile. She knew they may not have shown up that morning except for Hyunjin's wishes, but she felt lucky to have friends in the group that were girls. She felt like if she stayed around the guys much longer, she might eventually lose her mind. There were only so many rap battles, uno games, and dance battles that she could handle. That and the constant yelling. She didn't know how many times she heard "don't make me put you in the air fryer" but it was more than enough.
"You got everything you need?" So-Hee asked from her position beside Haewon who was busy texting someone on her phone. She had a smile spread so wide across her face she wondered who she was texting at this point in the morning. Even coffee wouldn't have her smiling this much in the morning.
Min-Sun shrugged her shoulders with a smile. She hoped she did, but knowing her she was bound to forget something, but what it was wouldn't come to her till later.
So-Hee laughed and all the girls headed out towards campus. They all took turns talking about different things, until So-Hee spoke up about her date with Changbin the other night.
"You would not believe what he did for me. After class he told me to come over and that he had a surprise. When I got there, he gave me flowers and he had clothes for me to change into. He wouldn't tell me where we were going, but when we got there it was the aquarium I had been talking to him about for ages. They had just got a new exhibit in and there was even a touch pool. There were no children running around and at the end he bought me whatever I wanted from the gift shop."
So-Hee sounded like she was on cloud nine. Haewon was laughing telling her that she had a hand in picking out the outfit because if he had chosen himself they probably would have broke up. Min-Sun laughed at the both of them feeling for once since she came here that everything was normal.
When they all arrived at campus, the girls had split going to their different classes and Min-Sun took a seat at her desk in Mr.Kang's classroom.
After class eneded So-Hee and Haewon swarmed her and followed her to her next class, then the next, and even to lunch. She then realized they took Hyunjin's warning to heart.
After classes were over for everyone later that day, the girls had followed Min-Sun to the ilbrary and had sat at the table and chairs that were near her desk. It was probably so they could keep an eye on her, but she was worried they were going a little overboard. Hyunjin was right that she shouldn't do what she did last night, and maybe on walks to school and back home she should be a little careful, but this felt like too much.
It also didn't help that they were detouring her plan. She expected them to stay around the whole day but not her whole library shift. She didn't think she was ever gonna escape them at this rate. She had to try and think of an escape route if she wanted any chance of showing this note to the police without involving everyone.
She started to scan in books and put them in the system all while thinking of something that would help her escape. Eventually she thought of something. It may not be foolproof, hell it might not even work, but it was a plan.
She moved from her position behind the desk heading towards the hallway to her right. She could see Haewon and So-Hee out of the corner of her eye trying to follow, but Min-Sun motioned them to stay. 'Bathroom' She mouthed and they looked at each other before trying to follow her again. She waved her hands at them before pointing at the sign above the hall that said 'employees only.' They gave her a wary look before nodding and walking back to their chairs. She walked down the hall into the bathroom before she put her plan into action.
She waited a few seconds before sneaking out, closing the door softly behind her and heading towards Mrs. Hwang's office which was two more doors down from the bathroom. Mrs. Hwang was the lady who ran the library and was genuinely one of the nicest people she had met in this world. Min-Sun knocked on the door waiting for an answer.
Mrs. Hwang opened the door and smiled seeing Min-Sun in front of her. "Min-Sun? Are you okay dear?" She motioned for her to have a seat. Min-Sun waved her hand telling her she was okay with standing.
"Mrs. Hwang, do you mind if I take the rest of the afternoon off? I'm not feeling good and I think I need to visit the infirmary." Min-Sun held her stomach and acted like she was sick. This may not win her any awards, but it was what she needed even for a brief moment to escape and go to the police station.
Mrs.Hwang nodded even asking if she needed any help getting over there. Min-Sun nodded her head no appreciating that she was kind enough to offer. Min-Sun looked back towards the front desk where she would sit and then her gaze traveled towards her friends sitting at the table looking bored. Guilt flooded over her at the fact she was leaving them worried about her.
She shot them a text that she went to the infirmary and that she called Hyunjin to come get her and that if they could take her bag home she would appreciate it. She watched them look at the text before grabbing her bag and heading out the door. She waited a few seconds longer before she disappeared out the side door.
Min-Sun headed in the direction of the police station feeling the note in her pocket. She didn't want everyone to keep worrying about her, she just wanted this problem to be resolved so she could enjoy more days full of laughter like she had this morning.
When Min-Sun arrived at the station she stared at the one story building feeling anxiety flood over her. She worried about taking this to the police. Someone was obviously watching her, keeping an eye on her and what would they do if they saw her take this note into the police station?
She battled her conscious for a few minutes longer before walking into the station. When she walked through she came face to face with the female officer she encountered the night of the incident. The officer took a double take over to Min-Sun before greeting her friendly.
"Oh Ms.Lee are you here about your house?" She asked. Min-Sun smiled over to the officer shaking her head.
"Ah no actually. I'm here concerning something else.." She trailed off following the officer over to her desk. The officer took a seat motioning for Min-Sun to do the same.
"Do you remember at my house there was a note found in my house?"
"Ah the one attached to that one bedroom?" Min-Sun nodded to the officers question.
"When I looked in my suitcase I packed a few days ago, I found another note," Min-Sun pulled the note from her pocket and placed it on the officers desk. "Then yesterday while studying I received this email from an unknown sender." She then pulled out her phone and pulled up the email for the officer.
The officer picked up the note first before looking at the phone. She looked around before asking min-Sun if she could take both to have them processed. Min-Sun nodded taking a seat in the chairs waiting for them to be done. She did her best to ignore the anxious feeling that settled in her chest.
Through all of this though, she hoped that what she was doing was something that would help put an end to all of this headache.
