"Min-Sun open the door please? It's been three days since we have all seen you. Just let us know you are okay." She could hear Seungmin's voice through the door. Min-Sun stood near the front of the door wrapping the blanket around her tighter. She waited and listened as Seungmin banged on the door for a few more minutes trying to coax her to come out. Eventually he left and the Min-Sun let out the breath she didn't know she was holding.
After the incident with her friends, Min-Sun hadn't felt well. She felt like what had happened was was all her fault, and the fact that Chan said exactly what she was thinking didn't exactly help her much. So she decided that maybe she needed to give everyone time to sort out their emotions. Her's included.
The reality though was that her anxiety had gotten so high to where she couldn't eat very much, and she felt sluggish and numb. She took temporary leave off work because she hadn't had much energy to do anything much less work. Keeping how she was feeling to herself was slowly wearing her down.
Min-Sun left her place at the front door and headed back into the living room where she put down the blanket she had wrapped around her. She then went into the bathroom where she brushed her teeth before looking in the mirror. Her eyes had bags underneath them and her hair hadn't been washed in at least four days. She groaned putting the toothbrush back in its spot knowing she needed to try and at least take a shower at some point today.
She stared down at her phone looking at the messages from her friends. She looked at the multiple texts from everyone before turning her phone over and heading to her bedroom. Min-Sun knew she shouldn't be blocking out her friends like she had, but all she had done so far was cause them a lot of trouble.
She was hoping that after a couple of days she would talk to them about everything, but if she was honest she was afraid to. After how Chan reacted, she didn't want to know how everyone else was gonna act. Especially Han..
She walked into her room and grabbed some clothes before heading back to the bathroom. Min-Sun put the clothes down on the sink and started the water before hearing knocking on her front door. Min-Sun paused turning off the water listening to see if the pounding was a part of her imagination. Then she heard a familiar voice that had guilt flossing through her veins once again.
"Min-Sun! Answer me!" Min-Sun jumped at the volume of the other person's voice. "Haewon..." Min-Sun let out quietly. Min-Sun walked out the bathroom and moved into the living room grabbing her blanket to wrap around her again. Over the past few days she had been freezing to death and it felt like she could never get warm. She moved closer to the front door and listened to her friend try to convince her to say something, anything.
"Min-Sun!" She could hear Haewon yelling at her.
"Please, just go home.." Min-Sun's voice croaked as she pleaded to her friend. It was the first time in the last three days she had talked to anyone.
"Minnie! Thank god you are still here. Please let us in, we need to talk this out together." She heard So-Hee speak up now and Min-Sun could feel the familiar guilt wash over her. She couldn't get over the image of both of her friends laying in hospital beds hurt because of her actions.
"Min please you don't have to do this alone. We want to be there for you, we want to help you. Please just let us in." Haewon pleaded hitting the door again and Min-Sun shook her head even though none of her friends could see it.
"No..No you don't understand..I don't want anyone else to get hurt. It's...I'm..." Min-Sun tried to explain while clenching the blanket around her tighter.
"Please everyone is worried sick about you. This is getting ridiculous!" Haewon was starting to get frustrated as she banged harder on the door. Min-Sun backed away from the door at her friends outburst. It felt like she was getting scolded by Chan again.
"Min-Sun! Min-Sun! Open this door right now." Haewon yelled towards her but Min-Sun nodded her head no and walked into the living room putting down the blanket before making her way back into the bathroom. She listened as her friends endlessly pounded away at her door and she started the water again hoping it would give her the motivation to get in and take a shower. She listened to the yelling and pounding for a little while longer before stripping and stepping into the steaming hot water. She moaned as the water hit her skin and washed away her moments of fear and anxiety.
She stayed in the shower for a long while. The warm water did wonders for her cold body, and if nothing else she felt better than the last few days she had been stuck inside. She stepped out the shower wrapping her hair and then putting on the clothes she brought in with her. Leaving her hair wrapped up so that her hair could dry, she decided to get some food. When she looked in the fridge, she saw the bare amount of food she had left and sighed. If she was honest she didn't have the energy to get food at the moment, and she really didn't want to do another takeout order. She closed the door before grabbing a glass of water leaving the kitchen.
She headed into the living room to sit down and work on some homework. She grabbed the blanket she left on the couch and put it across her lap before grabbing her laptop and turning it on. She started working on one of her assignments that was due by next week when she heard another knock on her door. Min-Sun groaned getting up from the couch putting down her laptop. She loved her friends with all her heart, but she was getting tired of the constant abuse towards her door.
She walked to the front door where the knocking went silent. Min-Sun stood there waiting to see if they would knock again before she talked to them. After a few seconds of no talking, Min-Sun went to walk away when she heard something being slid under her door.
She looked confused from the door down to the letter and picked it up feeling the familiar sense of anxiety washing over her. Her hands began to slightly shake as she started opening the letter. Inside contained a napkin with a note written in it.
'Don't run away from me.' Min-Sun placed her hand over her mouth before looking up to the door. Why were they harassing her so much? What problem did they have with her?
The fear that ran over her turned into anger as the hand over her mouth turned into a fist. Before she thought it through, she opened the door going outside. She was tired of being scared, and tired of being messed with.
"What the hell do you want from me?" She yelled walking out onto her terrance throwing her hands out. She starred a the letter in her hand before crumbling it up and throwing it down at her feet.
She stared around for a few seconds before flipping off whoever may be watching. Then she went back into the house and locking herself in once again.
