The next time Min-Sun opened her eyes all she could see was black. When her eyes adjusted, she found that she wasn't sitting completely in the dark but just a very dimly lit basement. There was a lamp on the other side of the room that only lit up a few feet in front of it.

Min-Sun tried to move but looked down remembering she was still tied to the chair. She moved her hands feeling the familiar pain digging into her wrists that had her groaning.

She looked around and cursed Min-Woo under her breath for leaving her down here. It was already winter and the clothes she wore were the same ones she was taken out of the house in. Her sweatpants and her sweatshirt could only help protect her so much from the cold. She didn't even have socks on.  Her eyes scanned the room, from the bookcase to the trashcans and then even Min-Woo's chair on the other side of the room. Her breath catches when she looked closer at his chair.

"Holy shit." She whispered out staring at the object.

In the chair that Min-Woo had sat in was his pocket knife. He must have been in a hurry when he left her that he forgot it down here, or in his fit of rage he forgot to take it with him. It didn't matter to Min-Sun, she thanked his stupidity and his hot headedness in that moment. She tried to move forward towards the chair opposite of her and cursed at her restraints.

She paused for a moment thinking before shuffling forward in the chair. The scrape it made across the floor had Min-Sun holding her breath wondering if Min-Woo had heard that or not.

She waited...one...two....three...four..

Another shuffle forward. A pause and then another shuffle. She did her best to stay calm and keep an ear in case Min-Woo came down the stairs. Finally on the last shuffle Min-Sun reached the chair and looked at the pocket knife smiling. She looked to the end of the stairs on the other side of the room and then back to the knife. Min-Sun shuffled the chair so that her tied hands could be closer to the chair.   She wiggled her arm around the restraint until she finally got the pocket knife in her hand.

She felt the small object in her hands and the happiness in her body disappeared as she realized it was closed and that she was going to have to attempt to open the pocket knife with one hand.

She used her nail and put in the crevice of the knife and pulled it out letting out a shaky breath praying it didn't fall. She paused for a second collecting herself taking a look towards the edge of the stairs again. She kept her eyes there as she began sawing at the rope confining her right hand. Eventually there was some give and she wiggled her arm out pulling it free. She let out a shaky laugh before using the knife to work on the other rope. As soon as both her hands were free she stopped listening for any noise upstairs. It was eerily quiet which left Min-Sun feeling on edge.

Min-Sun leaned over sawing at the ropes holding her feet. After a couple more minutes of sawing, she was free of all restraints. Her heart was beating out of chest, the adrenaline being the only thing keeping her moving. She used the dim lighting to look around the basement for anything of use, but found nothing. She looked down to the pocket knife in her hand and sighed realizing this was her best bet at self defense.

She walked over to the bottom of the stairs and paused listening again for any noise. Hearing nothing she went up the stairs pausing every time a step squeaked. She reached the top of the stairs listening again before attempting to open the door. She was surprised to learn that it was unlocked as she opened the door to be met with what looked like the backstage of a theater.

Min-Sun closed the door behind her softly before looking at the area. There were trunks of clothes lining the wall and the deep satin curtain in front of her were slightly worn from age. She turned her head to the right seeing a door on the other side of the room. She carefully walked towards the door with the pocket knife by her side.

She reached the door listening for anything on the other side. Hearing nothing, she opened the door and walked through. This time she was surrounded by more trunks and wooden beams. There was another door at the end of the hallway and Min-Sun almost cursed wondering how many door she had to walk through to get out of this place. She walked carefully towards the door and opened it without a second thought.

When the door opened she came face to face with her captor. He was just as surprised as she was, but his surprise quickly turned into an amused look. Panicking Min-Sun took a step back, gripping the knife in her hand.

"Really Min-Sun? Did you really think it would be that easy to escape?" Min-Woo raised his eyebrow taking a step towards her. Min-Sun raised the pocket knife towards him and Min-Woo just laughed.

"Cute knife." Min-Sun ran forward and tried to stab Min-Woo but he grabbed her wrist and took the knife from her. He let go of her wrist and looked at the pocket knife in his hand.

"You know since I've had some time to think, I realized a few things." Min-Woo took a step towards her. Every step he took forward, Min-Sun took back.

"Since my Min-Sun is dead, what reason do I have to keep you around anymore?" He looked at the knife and back to Min-Sun. She took another step back trying to figure out how she was going to get out of this. The only escape route she could see was right in front of her being blocked by a maniac with a knife. She could try to double back and find another way out past the curtains, but then her mind wandered to what if she got trapped. Then she reasoned that it had to be better than being taunted by some lunatic.

She decided to try and run back for the curtains when she felt a searing pain towards her side. She screamed in pain as she fell to the floor and looked to see Min-Woo with the pocket knife covered in blood. She felt her side and brought her hand up seeing blood covering it.  She looked up to Min-Woo fearful as he came closer to her.  With all the strength she could gather she kicked his shin causing him to curse and loosen his grip dropping the knife. Min-Sun reached for the knife the same time Min-Woo did but before he could take it she had it in her hands and stabbed him in the foot.

"FUCK-" He screams as he bends down to try and grab the knife. Min-Sun took the knife out and stabbed him again in the leg before getting up and heading over to the metal door past Min-Woo. She reached the door pushing against it with all her strength. Once outside it was completely dark, the only light being produced by the lamp on the road and the stars in the sky.

"HELP ME PLEASE." Min-Sun began to yell as she walked out the door. She was about to try and yell again before her mouth was covered. She saw the red tint staining their hand and she felt nauseous from the smell.

Min-Woo's hand covered Min-Sun's mouth and without thinking twice, she bit him. Her teeth sank into his hand and filled her mouth with a metallic taste. A hit to her head caused her to release her hold and she stumbled back holding the side of her head groaning. Trying to gain her composure she looked over to Min-Woo who was holding his bleeding hand and screaming. He was screaming at Min-Sun but she couldn't quite understand what he was saying.

She turned away from Min-Woo stumbling away from the metallic door towards the fields in front of her. She made it a few steps before she felt hands go around her waist. Knowing who it was, she squirmed in their hold trying to get away. She was slowly getting dragged back and she cried out in pain as Min-Woo's hand dug into her side.

Min-Sun wriggled around in Min-Woo's arms some more making him upset.

"Stop moving you bitch." He seethed as Min-Sun swung one of her legs back to try and kick him. It failed so she tried again and hit his thigh causing him to curse.

"Fine, but just so you know it wasn't supposed to end like this."

Min-Sun was shoved to the dirt landing on her stomach. She coughed from the impact and moaned as she was turned over onto her back. She was trying to catch her breath before she felt hands go around her throat. She looks up to Min-Woo whose features were full of anger.

She struggled to breath as she reached up to try and claw his face. Min-Woo shoved her hand away with his elbow as he applied more pressure to her throat causing her to gag. Her hands went to the ones wrapped around her throat and started to claw at them trying to gain any leverage she could.

She could feel her vision getting hazy and the black dots littering her vision. Min-Woo's angry face was slowly fading into black but before he completely faded away she saw his expression turn to one of panic.

It was the last thing she saw as everything went black and the world turned silent.
