ALL HER LIFE, RHAENERYS HAD KNOWN DAENERYS TO BE STRONG. Out of the two of them, her aunt had always been the one to hold her shoulders high, to suck back tears and never let anything or anyone break her.

But now, as she, Robb, Ned Stark and a few others sat in the council room, Rhaenerys finally witnessed her aunt break for the first time him her life.

"This means war," Daenerys spoke low, her voice thick grief and anger. "I want Joffery's head-and I want it now."

No one disagreed.

The air was thick with tension, an aura of grief radiating through the castle after Jon and Rhaenerys' discovery.

The latter still remembered the moment she broke the news to Daenerys; in private, alone.

She had been shaking as she made her way to the Queen's quarters, full of quiet sobs and tear stained cheeks. Greyworm had been sent in an immediate state of concern, but Rhaenerys didn't have the strength to tell him what was really upsetting her then.

Not yet.

Her main priority had been telling Daenerys. Rhaenerys knew that in her absence, Missandei had been there for her aunt. Advised her. Guided her. Comforted her when her brother was dead and her niece was across the ocean wrapped in a love affair with Robb Stark.

She had been Daenerys' closest companion and was like family to her aunt. A feat that had made breaking the news even more devastating.

At first, Daenerys had not believed her.

No matter how many times Rhaenerys tried to assure her that it was Missandei she and Jon discovered, she had refused to believe it.

But then she saw the body. Or rather, what was left of it.

Joffery had not been kind to her friend. Not at all. That was evident in the way she and Jon only had a head to show as proof to Daenerys, no body.

There had been no insult spared with Missandei's death. No respect.

It made Rhaenerys sick to even think, but she doubted Missandei was shown any mercy. Joffery was sick and cruel; he treated the world like his kingdom and the people in it like his playthings.

There was no telling when Missandei had died, or if she suffered or not.

Daenerys had fallen to her knees when she had seen her. A guttural sound had escaped from her chest-a sob, and then another and then another as she cradled the only thing of Missandei she had left.

Daenerys hands had been stained from her blood, but the dragon queen didn't seem to care.

The only thing she cared about was grieving her friend. She, along with Wyrmrot, Greyworm, Rhaenerys, and Ser Barris gave her a proper burial that night. The dignity she was robbed of in life was given to her in death. Missandei had been a loyal asset to the Targaryen family, and so she had the honor of receiving a dragon riders' death.
