THEY COULD NOT FIND HER. The little wolf had gone missing they said, and Rhaenerys had a sinking feeling that she knew exactly where the girl was.
Catelyn did too.
Ever since she was young, Arya had always wanted to fight. While Sansa and the other young ladies of Winterfell stayed with their Septas and talked over embroidery, Arya used to sneak out and watch her brothers train while her father pretended that she wasn't there.
She had been fascinated by it all-the bows, the swords, the combat.
If she could've, the girl would've grown up to be a knight to her mother's horror. She would have traveled around the Seven Kingdoms and maybe beyond to protect those who couldn't protect themselves.

Arya was gone, and they couldn't afford to bring her alone back.
...But she could.
Suddenly, an idea in Rhaenerys' mind sparked a flame. Somewhere in the distance she could hear the beating wings of Rhaegar as he flew around the castle, and she turned to Sansa and Catelyn with a determined look in her eyes.
"I can get her back."
The suggestion hung in the air for a brief moment as the Stark women turned to her. There was shock on their faces, and disbelief. Eyes wide, Catelyn quickly exclaimed,
