IT WAS A GOOD IDEA IN HINDSIGHT, Roose Bolton had said. Seeking refuge with the Dragon Queen might have been their only chance, but it might lead to their ultimate demise, too, he argued.

He along with many others doubted that Daenerys would be so accepting of them even if they did come bearing her niece. They had doubts that Daenerys would agree to their offer as well. Help her defeat the white walkers, and afterwards let her keep the South where they have the North.

It was good in theory, but a pipe dream he called it.

Only, it was no dream at all.

Rhaenerys knew that, Robb knew that and most of all Ned Stark knew that. He knew that what his good daughter proposed might be the only way they would survive this war. Seeking refuge with Daenerys might be hard, yes, but it was the least impossible choice of the only three they had.

The only problem was that if they planned to do it, there was only one person that they could send to make peace.

Rhaenerys would have to be the one to go and reason with her aunt and convince her to send her ships to help the Northmen get across the sea.

It had to be Rhaenerys, because Daenerys would not listen to anyone else. She would not even think to reason with them if her niece was not in the room, which was why it was imperative that Rhaenerys went.

She expressed this to Robb, but he was stubborn and refused to let her go up until the moment she reminded him that this could determine the life and death of their child.

She knew it wasn't fair to bring her babe into it, but it made Robb realize that the only other choices they had were death. And that was something he wanted less than letting Rhaenerys fly alone to Dragonstone. So, eventually he came around to the idea.

He still didn't like it, not one bit, but he knew it was the only choice they had. Ned wasn't too comfortable with it either, but the dragon girl seemed to know what she was doing. Plus, she was the only one out of all of them that could tame Rhaegar enough to ride him to Dragonstone.

It was this thinking that eventually led Rhaenerys on her way back to the castle she once called home. On her way back to Daenerys and Ser Barris.

Rhaenerys did not know what happened to the Dothraki, but if she had to guess, she'd say that they made their way back over the Sea, into the land that they belonged in more than this one.

She didn't know. She didn't know anything, and the only thing she carried with her with was the hope she had in Daenerys' mercy.

Missandei had said it once, and she hoped it to be true as she landed Rhaegar on the outskirts of Dragonstone where all the other dragons were.
