Chapter 10: Pranks and bored YouTube searching

"Are you ready Mel?"
"As ready as I'll ever be Ron. "
"What about you, Cal. "
He just grunted his response. Even though Ron and I practically forced Cal to help us prank Carter he could've at least be a little more enthusiastic!

Currently we were in Carter's basement. We snuck in this way so that no one would know that we're inside. We had to climb through a window to get here, but pranking one of your best friends and seeing their shocked faces will be worth it... Hopefully.

We snuck to Carter's room like the ninjas in those cheesy action movies. Ron and I did subtle little cartwheels (you know because that's what all ninjas do) while Cal just stared at us like we were crazy. When we got in his room we closed the door.
"Okay, so here's what we're going to do. " said Ron taking the bucket filled to the brim with a mixture of slime goo, glitter, pink food colouring, half a bottle of my Famously Feminine nr. 7 perfume and a few dashes of some hot pink paint. Yeah we're going all Hello Kitty on the guy.

"Cal, you put it on the door while I hold it in place. Since you know the house best, Mel, can you keep guard, please. "
We both nodded our heads in understanding and set out to do our little tasks.

I was beyond bored standing in the hall while waiting for someone to come.
"Hey Melanie what you doing here? "
I felt all the air get sucked out of my lungs when I heard Waverley 's familiar voice.

"Hey Lya what're you doing here?" I tried to sound casually and failed miserably at it.
"One, I live here, " pointed Waverley out,
"And two you called me Lya. You only call me Lya when you're up to something. "
And there's the Waverley I know and dislike.
"Are you trying to prank my brother again? " asked the girl with red hair (dyed I might add) and big wide brown eyes.
"Yes, so please can you just play along. For a friend? " I tried.
She thought about it for a few seconds before she answered, "Well I do like to see Carter covered in slime... but playing along just isn't my thing. "
And with those words she pulled the door, that was opened slightly, shut. I heard the bucket fall and Cal's voice came right after.

She opened the door with a devious smile on her face. Several images of me murdering her flashed through my mind at that moment. Oh my gosh, the girl turned me into a psycho killer!!!!
The image of Cal covered in the pink glittery mess was imprinted in my brain and I felt bad for dragging him into this. She just stood there looking at Cal in shock while he blushed through the pink paint.

"This is why we're not friends! " I shrieked trying to remove some of the pink paint from Cal.
Waverley suddenly snapped out of her shocked state and got her usual snotty attitude back.
"Yeah well the friendship bracelet you got me when we were little said otherwise. "
Retorted Waverley.
"Yeah well, at that time you weren't such a..."
Ron covered my mouth with his hand before I could say a few things I might regret.
"Okay, thanks a lot Lya." said Ron while shooting daggers at the smirking girl.

"Come Cal we'll get you cleaned up at our house. "
Was all I managed to say, when Ron removed his hand, that wouldn't get me into hell.
We walked over to our house and sneaked in through my window considering it's the one closest to Carter's house. After a whole lot of scrubbing and some experiments with various cleaning liquids Cal was still a light glittery pink.

"Well, on the bright side it does make your eyes pop and that's a good thing. "
I felt Ron's glare on me and shrugged my shoulders innocently.
Shoot me for trying to lighten the mood a little.
"No it's fine. I don't blame you guys. " said Cal.

"Do, do, ray, do, ray, ray me, ray... Shit why can't I get this right! " I said throwing my pillow across the room in frustration.
