Call To Me

Ch. 1

The two have been driving all day. Halfway there to the cabin, it started to snow. The two stopped for dinner at a drive thru and stopped to get gas and groceries.

During grocery shopping, Sonic asked, "So where are we going for a vacation big sis?" Sonia replied, "To a forest getaway. We're going in a wooded area that involves being in a cabin. Already rented and paid for. Mom and Dad thought it would be a good idea to have some fresh air."

Sonic groaned and facepalmed and muttered, "Ugh. Figures. Of all the places. They chose somewhere for you to hate getting dirty."

Sonia then said, "It's next to a lake." Sonics spines chilled as he heard that.

Sonic sighed deeply before he said, "Let's get to the cabin and have a good time as brother and sister."

Sonic nodded in agreement. He didn't wanna admit it but he seriously wanted to spend time with his big sis. The two exit the store just after paying. But he coulda sworn that the cashier looked like something spooked him when they told him about their vacation in the woods.

It was already dark once they started driving again and Sonia had to use her headlights to see while driving. Sonic asked as he looked around the passenger seat, "Say Sonia? Did that cashier looked nervous to you?" Sonia answered as she drove with her gps showing her directions, "Probably. why do you ask?"

Sonic answered, "Well when I mentioned we were on vacation to the cabin in the woods for a few months, he looked like he seen a ghost."

Sonia thought about it too before she said, "Maybe he saw a scary movie a last night before work."

Sonic replied as he grabbed a soda, "But he didn't look scared before I mentioned it to him." Sonia raised a brow in confusion as she thought about.

The windshield was getting foggy from all that snow as Sonia used her windshield wipers to wipe the snow away.

Sonic turned up the heat and said, "Geez. I didn't think it would snow." Sonia answered, "I find it unusual little brother. My phone said it was sunny here. Guess there's an unexpected weather change I guess."

Sonic joked a little by saying that they shoulda brought their snow coats. The two laughed a little as Sonia said, "Real funny little brother."

The two continued talking during the whole way there. But that's when Sonia saw something or someone standing in the middle of the road. She screamed and turned rapidly to a stop.

Sonia heavily breathed as Sonic asked in worry, "Sis, what happened?"

Sonia turn to her brother, "Sonic? I'm sorry. I freaked out. I think I saw someone on the road."

Sonic 'who also saw it' said as he grabbed his phone, grabbed his navy blue jacket and turned on the flashback, "I'll go check. You stay here."

Sonic got out of the car and flashed his flashlight left and right, back and forth. He shouted as he walked 5 steps from the car, "HELLO?!"

No answer, he then walks around and said, "Hello? Who's there?" He hears a sound before he quickly flashes his flashback behind him and sees it was just an owl on a tree.

He sighed as he said, "It was just an owl." He then suddenly hear an eerie, bone chilling voice that whispered, "...Sonic."

He gasped as he shouted while holding his flashlight, "Hello? Anyone here?"

No answer as he looks both ways. Sonic said to himself as he walked to the car, "It's weird."

He was only a few feet to the car before heard the voice again 'this time it was closer'. That's when he gasped and looked behind him. Sonic then said to himself, "Nobody here."

Sonic thought as he got in, "Sonia did see someone. Who the heck can be out at this hour?"

Sonia asked, "Anything yet?" Sonic answered her as they continue driving to the cabin, "No. I looked around the area a little. But the snow was so thick while falling I couldn't see anyone. Besides there was no answer."

Sonia then assume, "M-maybe it was a deer."

Sonic then said, "Oh no. You definitely saw something but it was definitely not a deer. A deer doesn't on two feet. It must've a person of some sort."

Sonia asked, "But who the hell could be walking in this snowy area at this hour?"

Sonic then replied, "I dunno. But I heard an eerie and cold voice saying my name. We're you calling me?" Sonia answered, "No. I waited for you the whole time."

Sonic thought as he remembered the voice, "Why would be Sonia's voice. The voices sound like a guys voice."

Sonia then said, "You know? After you left I too heard a voice saying my name. We're you playing one of you practical jokes little brother? That wasn't funny."

Sonic answered, "No. how could it be me when I was outside?"

The two siblings had a bone chilling moment. Sonic sighed deeply and said, "Let's get to the cabin and get everything in and enjoy this 'vacation'. Hopefully they have a heater. This weather is cold."

Sonia then said as they arrived, "Well luckily I bought some hot chocolate, once we get everything settled I can whip up some hot chocolate."

Sonic smiled and said, "Thanks big sis." Sonia replied, "Anytime little brother."

Though little did they know that they did see someone on the road. Someone unexpected.
