Ch. 14

Shadow and Sonia went inside and caught Sonic and Knuckles on the couch.

Knowing Sonic wants to know the truth. The two sat down and both siblings had to hear this.

Sonia asked, "What's this about?" Sonic answered, "Knuckles and possibly your new boyfriend over there are gonna tell us what really happened to them."

Knuckles asked in a teasing tone, "Would you be my boyfriend Sonic?" Sonic 'in denial' said with a blush, "No. maybe. I dunno."

Sonic sighed deeply and asked, "Now tell us what really happened to you both?"

Knuckles sat down with Shadow as the two siblings were all ears. Knuckles sighed deeply and said, "It's started out 700 years ago today. Our village was going downhill slowly. But me and my friend 'Shadow' were not aware of it, so we decided to take a walk in the woods."

Sonic asked, "Village?" Sonia answered, "Valiant said you two went exploring in the woods when this small town is found."

Shadow answered, "Thats because our village is in the woods. The small town is in the opposite side of where we're at."

Knuckles then said, "Besides the people who found the town were aware of us when they spotted us going in the woods. They just assumed we were part of the towns people. We discovered an undiscovered cave by accident when we got lost in the woods and the night came."

The two siblings looked at each other before Shadow said, "Thats when it went downhill quickly. That cave was home to the curse vampires."

Sonia asked, "So it wasn't a typical vampire bat cave?" Shadow answered her, "Not even close. When the village was settled one or maybe two of the villagers went rogue and performed a ritual in that cave that turned him into a vampire. Though our fates were sealed when we went face to face with 'him'."

The two siblings scooted closer as Knuckles said with a deep sigh, "When we entered the cave, we went to see if there was treasure or even something more valuable, Shadow had to set a stick on fire to make a torch. But when we went deeper. He appeared."

Shadow then said, "Yeah. We looked behind and saw no one. Like you guys. We heard a voice calling our names. When I looked in front. There was the one who turned us into vampires. Mephiles. He blew the torch right in front of us. I didn't get very far but he bit me on the neck and drained my blood, and turned me into this."

Knuckles sighed deeply and said as he can still feel the bite marks he had when he was still alive, "Yeah. I almost got away. But unfortunately Mephiles called my name and I stopped. I was in a trance. He then drained my blood right from my neck. By the time the locals from the town found us it was too late. The transformation began."

The two siblings gasped as Shadow said, "Yeah. By the time we were completely transformed we had to hide in the village. But unfortunately some of the villagers already moved to the town while some others were sick and died and some already turned."

Sonic asked with sympathy, "So there are other vampires besides you two and the town only thinks you guys are haunting the woods?"

Shadow answered with a shrug, "Pretty much. We've been doing this for years. Though overtime we got lonely despite what's left of the village. So me and Knuckles here, decided to find someone worthy of loving to be our eternal soulmates forever. We tried the couple before you but they ended up as food instead."

Sonic and Sonia were a little surprised by this. Shadow then said, "I know we terrified you both but it's kinda how we scared the locals. Though we don't get outsiders like you both often anymore. Let alone a sister and brother."

Sonic then said to them, "Believe me dude. It's scarier for us than it is. Yet we got this far."

Sonia then said with a blush, "Look we don't blame you. We do want to be with you both. But Sonic is too stubborn to admit it."

Sonic glares at her before he looked at Knuckles and blushed as he looked away. Knuckles smirked before he asked, "If you two want we can show you the village."

Sonia and Sonic looked at each other before both said, "We can see it tonight."

Shadow and Knuckles said at the same time, "Good."

Knuckles said to Sonic, "See you tonight blue boy." Shadow then said, "Same to you pink-sweet."

Then they turned to a misty-like appearance and made their way out. The two siblings were amazed. Sonic turned to his sister and said, "So that's how they got in here. I always thought they just turn to bats."

Sonia replied as she crossed her arms, "Vampires are shapeshifters after all little brother."
