The plan had been to get in through the basement. Get in through the basement and take the house from there. Rocco had never been in this part of the house, though. He had no idea that the basement had been converted into torture cells. They also weren't expecting Yakavetta to be waiting for them.
They should have suspected he'd be on high alert with them taking out his men left and right all over the city. They had been so eager to get Ashley back to finish this and move on with their lives that they decided to skip a few steps and go right for Yakavetta.
Yet now the three men sat strapped to chairs, awaiting to be executed by the man they were here to kill. He had beat them, not excessively, but enough to break skin, leave a mark, and leave the lingering taste of blood in all of their mouths. Even when Yakavetta left the room, they were left with two very big men who loomed over them, waiting for them to make a move so they had an excuse to snap their necks. The three wouldn't give them one.
Instead, they sat and waited. Connor could feel Murphy's furious energy from the other end of the row of chairs, pulling on his restraints, no doubt breaking skin. As Yakavetta entered, they could clearly see the look of smugness that painted his face, the sides of his lips curled up into the faintest of evil grins. "It has come to my attention that we may have an associate of yours here."
The boys shared concerned and curious glances as they pondered who might have been taken that knew them, they didn't know many people, outside of Doc everyone in town was merely an acquaintance.
As Yakavetta scanned their faces, he could understand their confusion as he had to pull some heavy connections to be able to get this woman back over the border. Without another word, Yakavetta left the three to go get the woman who was now more valuable alive than dead.
The three waited minutes, feeling like an eternity as they waited to see the fate of the person they held captive. Their hearts stopped, and the room went quiet for a second as they took in their girl.
They watched as she was pushed through the door her long black hair covering her face, the blood, old and dried along with the new red blood that was staining her shirt as it pooled where she had obviously just taken a beating.
The string of profanity that left the three of them was drownd out by each other as they watched Yakavetta pull her to her knees by her hair. As her hair fell to the sides of her face, they felt the stabbing pain of guilt rip through their chests.
If they hadn't of known better, they wouldn't believe it was her by looking at her, her lip was split in two, no, three places, her nose looked obviously broken with a gash across it where someone had hit her so hard the skin had ripped itself apart, both of her eyes where swollen with different colors of healing, letting them know she had been here for more then just today. Other cuts and bruises littered her face, making her almost unrecognizable.
The shock of seeing her like this hadn't left them when their eyes found their way to the growing blood stain between her legs. Making them fear the very worst for their baby.
The ringing in Connors' ears was overpowered by the screams and near sobs from Murphy as he too realized the fate of their child. Tears pricked the sides of his eyes, and the breath was stolen from his lungs as he watched Yakavetta raise the gun to her head. Connor and Murphy fought against the restraints, thinking if they could only get free, only get to her, they could make it all go away.
Rocco felt the weight of it all, felt the panic radiating off his two best friends, and couldn't sit back and watch the people he loved be ripped apart. With determination and a small amount of panic in his voice, he yelled across the room. "Hey asshole, gotta kill a woman to feel like a big man, huh?" He chuckled a little, desperately needing him to take the gun away from Ashley's head, even if that meant drawing it towards him.
