Chapter 8

I'm sorry yall. I've been trying to get better at doing things. Over October and November, I've just lost all motivation to do things, and my grades and sports performances reflected that. I couldn't find a reason to do even the simplest tasks, like brush my teeth. I gave up on all of you, and I'm sorry. I'm trying to get better because I can finally see why I was struggling the last couple of months. I'm slowly easing back into a healthy way of living that doesn't involve wearing the same dirty clothes everyday and not doing any homework. I'll try and post whenever I can, but it is still Finals Season, and time for the holidays, and multiple sports. I'll definitely try my hardest to get this show on the road and off the dirt path, but I've sort of forgot what the plan was for this book. Don't you worry about it. Your only job is to enjoy yourself. Thank you all for reading my first story and sticking with it through all of my drama. I'm so thankful for all yall and could not have done this had I not woken up everyday to see more readers. Thank yall so much! I will definitely be posting not as frequently, however. I've been re-reading all the previous chapters to this story, and I never realized how good they are! Don't you worry, these ones will be just as good, and if there were notifications of me publishing chapters, I was just fixing errors. This cover makes me sad because of how Dexiepoo didn't get nearly any cover time. Tam is on two and he's been in the series for only 6 books!

Sophie awoke on the floor of her room, bundled in multiple soft blankets.

No no no no no no no no, Sophie thought. Not again!

She quickly untangled herself and ran to the bathroom. She opened the glass door to her shower and stepped over to the ledge where her bottles shampoo and conditioners resided. They were all full. Again. She was dreaming again. How could this freaking happen two times in a row?

Alright, I'm pretty sure I'm awake at this point. Sophie thought. She pinched herself to be sure. Yup, definitely awake. She thought as she waved her arm in hopes of getting the stinging pain away. She walked over to her closet and chose the same outfit as yesterday. If it was a dream, then technically, the clothes would never have gotten dirty, and no one would know since those were dream people and not real people.

As she walked past the spectral mirror separating her room and her closet bathroom area, she heard a high-pitched shriek. Sophie frantically looked around and found nothing.

"What. Happened. To. Your. Hair?" The small girl in her spectral mirror asked.

Sophie frantically patted the top of her head to find massive clumps of knotted hair forming behind her neck and on her head.

"Let me fix it." Vertina said.

Sophie soon found herself in an intense detangling session. After several broken brushes and three detangling serums, Sophie's wild hair had finally been tamed.

She was about to walk away when Vertina stopped her.

"You think I'm just going to let you walk away? There's this pretty style that was Jolie's favorite that I'm simply DYING to try on you."

Sophie soon found her almost wavy hair in a half up half down bun. It looked good. Very good.

"Thanks, Vertina."

"Just doing my job. Oh! And do tell me how it goes with that dashing Vacker boy you're always thinking about?" Vertina said with a devious smirk.

"Wha- No!" And with her cheeks flaming at the mention of Fitz being "Dashing" she briskly walked downstairs.

Edaline and Grady were sitting at the table in the kitchen that overlooked the beautiful cliff views, eating ripplefluffs when Sophie walked in.

"Hi!" Edaline said, quickly getting up from the table.
