After we finished eating breakfast, we went outside of the restaurant and took a short stroll to the nearest faun. When we arrived, he held the purple dragon with a cream underside using a chain. I stared in awe at the dragon. Incredible! I admired in my head: A real dragon standing here... I stared at its large scales covering its whole body, marking a path towards the feet housing giant black claws. The feet were half my height and I was five feet and five inches. Its tail was swaying back and forth in the air, waiting patiently for his owner to let them fly.
As father talked to the faun, paying the prize to ride the dragon, my eyes wandered to its eyes. It stared at me with its red coral eyes and giant vertical pupil. The dragon had eyelashes, long eyelashes that flapped as it closed and opened its eyes. Father looked back at me and slightly touched my shoulder, bringing me back to reality, "Let's go to my castle."
I nodded, not shocked by the fact he had a castle; a ruler of this kingdom would live in a castle and not in any small home. We walked closer to the dragon, and I extended my hand to touch it. I felt the swaying tail which slowly descended to the ground. Father explained to me that we climbed on using the tail. And we did just that. I stepped onto the tail, making sure I didn't hurt it. There was no reaction, so I continued my way up towards the neck. Keeping my balance, which was surprisingly easy, my body kept steady without trying, as if I was walking on flat ground. I asked father about that, and he stated that there was no gravity in the Underworld but instead the world was kept at a constant balance to where you could not fall unless he chose to take that away. He was the creator of this world, so unsurprisngly, he had the power to add and remove things from the Underworld.
I took my seat closest to the neck and father sat behind me, an inch away from us touching. The dragon, who was named Nikolai, spread its wings and quickly, shot up into the air. I held the handles that it wore on the side of its neck and body, surprised by how quickly it began to fly. I semi-screamed which then turned into a louder, excited scream. "Holy shit! Woohoo!" I exclaimed while shooting my arms up in the air. Father chuckled and looked up ahead, trying to spot his castle. The air, which did exist here, made its way through my hair and I could feel the warmness hit my cheeks. It was warm to the touch and yet gave me slight goosebumps.
Nikolai's wings worked fast, we soared through the infinite Underworld and passed many cities. Father explaining this all to me, who then told me something that made me burst out of my seat, "I want to tell you this, so it is not a surprise or a lie. You are not the only one, I have three other children. Their names are Clio, Dea, and Kaija."
I looked back at father, the surprise making me happy, "I have siblings?!" I always dreamed of having other siblings but never tried to dwell on the fact that mother was never going to have more kids. I was content with just the two of us, but sometimes, I couldn't help but think how our lives could look like if I had other siblings. Now that father was telling me I did have siblings, I couldn't wait to meet them and have three friends for life. Father nodded, having to assure me in the fact he had other children. "Are they demi-demons as well?" I asked wanting to know if my siblings would be just like me and we would share things in common. I knew nothing of them and I was already trying to find out what made me similar to them. Great conversation starters and a great way to bond.
Father shook his head, "They are Goddesses but they don't act like Gods. Keeping their powers at bay, they just live life in the castle and live their lives like powerless beings."
Disappointed and a little jealous that I was the only demon in the family I asked, "Why is it they are fully Gods, but you chose to make me a demon?"
"I had them a long time ago, the oldest is five thousand."
"Woah," I quietly exclaimed. Five thousand years old was the age of the oldest?! How old are the rest?
