Paper Rings

Hi here's another one.  In this Maddox and Ashlyn are already together. The rest will explain itself.

Maddox

When I wake up I have a text from Ash.

Goodmoring Ash, How's it going?💜

I'm doing great HBU?

I'm fine thx, see you in an hour.

Since I got my drivers license. I'm picking Ash up everyday and then we go to school together.

I get dressed in one of my usual flannels and a pair of jeans.

Then I go downstairs and grab a waffle Jet made for breakfast and brush my teeth.

I put on my black all stars and grab my bag.

Then I get into the car I got for my seventeenth (A camouflage type of green jeep) and drive towards Ashlyn's.

I ring the doorbell and see EJ in front of me when the door gets opened.

"Yooo Rocketman."

"You hangin' in there Gadget."

Then Ashlyn walks up after EJ.

"Okay that's it with the weird nicknames"

"I'm sorry person who has called me Eltonia, because I played with dolls."

"Yeah, you can drive yourself to school today, no toxic masculinity in my car."

Ashlyn makes a sad face.

"Please, I'm sorry."

"Okay, only cause I love you."

"Yay"

When we step in to the car, Ashlyn turns towards me.

"I know you don't really like clingy things, but...."

I keep thinking, what did I forget?

"I found out that we're 500 days together today so I got you a little something."

She hands me a gift plus a card. I open the gift first, it's a guitar pick with something engraved in it. I look closer at it, it reads Ash🖤Gadget.

That's so cute.

Then I open the card.

It has two paper rings in it and it reads:

I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings.

I bend over to kiss her on her lips. "That's so cute. I'm sorry I didn't get you anything."

"Don't be sorry. I like giving you gifts."

"Just you wait, one day I will trade these paper rings for real one's for you.": I say.

I give another peck on her cheek and then I start the car.

I put my hand on her tigh and I drive us to school.
