Ten: "Strawberry sorbet with a side of you."
------
Louis.
"So how's Drama class going? I'm glad you're not stressing over it like last year," Gemma said, digging her spoon into her bowl of cookies n' cream.
Louis looked up from his phone, sighing as he put the device away. "Oh, I know! It's a major relief. They always judge the Drama class president for the semester plays just as much as the teacher," Louis said snarkily, snatching Harry's spoon and then pulling the bloke's icecream bowl in front of him.
"Hey!" Harry protested, but Louis ignored him as he continued. "But I'm glad everything's going smoothly. Great people auditioned, and we have a kicking cast. Miss J is flying."
Harry ran a hand through his hair, nudging Gemma, then smirking at Louis as him and Gemma sat across from the blue eyed boy in the booth.
"Great people huh?" Gemma said non chalantly, and Louis groaned.
"Great Australian people yes," Harry tacked on, pursing his lips as he nodded seriously."I... Where have you guys even gotten the notion?" Louis asked, shaking his head in disbelief as they once again hinted at him fancying Luke Hemmings.
It was ridiculous, that's what it was. Luke was just incredibly teasing and managed to push his buttons sometimes. God. That did not mean Louis was in love with the guy. He annoyed him to be honest.
"Oh c'mon Lou, we just want you to get laid! You've been so bitchy lately!" Gemma said loudly, rolling her eyes and muttering "Prudes," as a few people glanced towards them in shock.
Louis just shot her the bird. "I'm perfectly fine Gems, thank you for your heart warming concern," he offered sarcastically, digging back into Harry's icecream.
The twins shared a look, and then focused back on Louis who was now wiping chocolate icecream off his black tank top by lifting his shirt up and licking at it.
"What? Why waste it?" He mumbled, and Harry snorted.
"Why waste my icecream?" Harry grumbled and Louis reached out and petted his head. Harry mock-angrily pushed his hand away, huffing and muttering about being bullied by his own best friend as he got up to order another one.
Gemma leaned her elbows on the table, meeting Louis' eyes. "Listen. All jokes aside Lou, we want you to be happy again. It's been years since we've seen you like that," Gemma said softly. "That's why we're playing matchmaker. And now you seem kinda into him? What's the deal with that?" She asked, jutting her chin towards the counter, and for a second Louis thought she meant Harry.
Louis' mouth almost dropped a tad as he saw Liam behind the counter, shaking hands with and patting the guy's back, whose shift must have ended.
"When did he get here?" Louis blinked, biting his lower lip as he noticed how adorably hot Liam looked in the icecream parlor's uniform.
Harry slipped back into the booth, cradling his new icecream bowl protectively. "Oh your friend works here now. Now wonder you dragged us here today," Harry teased, and Louis shook his head, then straightened up with a grin, adjusting his fringe.
"I didn't really know but yeah, gotta make it work in my favor. Excuse me Styles squared," Louis said, sliding out of the booth and sauntering towards the counter as Gemma snorted from behind.
He walked up towards Liam who noticed him and did a double take, freezing in his actions. "H-hi Louis!"
"Very professional Liam," Louis teased, leaning his elbows against the counter as Liam shook his head.
"Um I mean. What can I get you sir?" He asked with a bright smile.
"I'll have the strawberry sorbet with a side of you," Louis said in a low voice as he leaned forward, trying to sound seductive as Liam quirked an eyebrow, but a faint blush was on his cheeks.
"Sorry but that's not on the menu," Liam said smoothly.
"When will it be available then?" Louis mock pouted and Liam squinted his eyes in mock thought.
"All tomorrow evening, sir," he said shyly, meeting his chocolate brown eyes with Louis', who almost cooed.
"All Sunday evening? How convenient. So am I. Guess I'd like my order to be at my house tommorrow at 7PM sharp, drizzled with a bit of casual," Louis smiled, biting the inside of his cheek as he met Liam's eyes who's current squinty eyed smile could cure cancer.
Louis knew he was just enjoying the attention Liam gives him, and how flustered Louis makes him, and it makes him feel a tad guilty that he doesn't have much stronger romantic feelings for the boy, but they are there. Or maybe it's just attraction or maybe Louis really does enjoy making Liam so happy? Louis has been out of the dating scene for so long that he can't really classify his feelings.
Liam is a sweetheart, he's caring, not too much on the sharp side but it's a joy to tease him as he's so sensitive, not to mention he's so genuinely amused and fascinated by Louis, that it's both endearing and also a major ego booster.
And Gemma is right. It's been years since he has been in a relarionship or had serious feelings for anyone, for that matter. He does like Liam, he really does. At first it was just a little flings, but now Louis is not so sure.
Liam's nice to have around and makes Louis feel homey and appreciated. Louis feels like he just needs to know the bloke even better and see where it goes.
Not because his friends are right, not really.
"Uh, don't you want to order?" Liam called out. Louis threw a smile over his shoulder.
"I already got what I wanted, babe. Thanks," he said cheekily, quickly glimpsing behind and being rewarded with the sight of a muscly Liam blushing profusely like a schoolgirl.
Yeah. Definitely gonna give it a try.
