Elijah was anxious.
Not about his mother, though.
That was a problem for future Elijah.
Those three simple words from her were enough to send a chill down his spine.
In the book, Elijah's parents had disowned him, and that was the end.
He couldn't fathom why they wanted to contact him again.
But right now, he realized he didn't care. He had a date with Ethan and Blaze, and that was all that mattered.
His heart fluttered at the thought. An actual date with Ethan and Blaze! His favorite characters, the ones he had spent countless hours reading about and admiring. It felt surreal, like a dream that he was afraid to wake up from. Every time he looked at them, he couldn't help but fanboy internally.
They were even more incredible in person. Blaze's intense, unwavering presence and Ethan's protecting nature made Elijah's heart race. The chemistry they had was palpable, a magnetic force that pulled them together. It was confusing, though—his body reacted to their touch with a familiarity that his mind couldn't reconcile.
Elijah remembered the moments when Ethan and Blaze kissed his face, their lips gentle yet possessive. His body responded instinctively, a shiver running down his spine, warmth spreading through his chest. His mind, however, struggled to keep up, to understand the depth of this connection that felt both new and ancient.
Tonight was their first official date, and Elijah could barely contain his excitement. He stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his outfit for the hundredth time, a nervous smile playing on his lips. He wanted everything to be perfect. After all, this was Ethan and Blaze—his heroes, his...lovers?
Wait... Heroes? Lovers?
Why did he think that.
They weren't his lovers.
Then, out of nowhere, a memory hit him like a tidal wave.
They were in the park, the sun setting, casting a warm, golden glow over everything. Elijah had been laughing at something Ethan said, the sound light and carefree. Blaze had watched him with a fond smile, his eyes softening in a way that made Elijah's heart skip a beat.
Ethan and Blaze exchanged a look, a silent conversation passing between them. Then, Blaze stepped forward, his expression turning serious yet tender.
"Eli," Blaze began, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "There's something we've been wanting to ask you."
Ethan nodded, moving closer. "We've been thinking about this for a while, and we wanted to know if you'd consider being our boyfriend. We care about you deeply, Elijah, and we want to be with you, not just as friends, but as partners."
