The crowd buzzed with anticipation, energy crackling in the air, but Elijah's mind wandered for a moment, swept up in his own thoughts. As he stood between Blaze and Ethan, waiting for the concert to start, his heart beat a little faster—not just from excitement but from being here, with them.

He couldn't stop himself from grinning, practically vibrating with excitement, when Ethan's arm slid around his waist. Blaze leaned in close, just a brush of shoulders, but it grounded him, reminded him that this was real.

"Excited?" Blaze asked, already knowing the answer.

Elijah's smile widened as he looked up at him. "This is gonna be so awesome."

Ethan, watching the whole exchange with a soft expression, chuckled. "I don't think I've ever seen you this happy."

Those words—innocent and full of love—cut through Elijah like ice. Chills raced down his spine. Why wouldn't I be this happy? Why wouldn't Elijah have been this happy with Ethan and Blaze by his side? What kind of person had he been before -- so broken—that even in moments like this, joy was something foreign?

Without warning, Elijah turned, his arms wrapping tightly around Ethan in a fierce, almost desperate hug. He held on as if he could somehow protect this version of himself, this fragile, newfound happiness, by sheer force of will. Ethan stiffened in surprise at first, but then his arms wrapped around Elijah in return, warm and reassuring. Elijah pressed his lips to the top of Ethan's head, a soft, intimate kiss, his heart aching with the weight of everything he felt but couldn't yet say.

Ethan, always protective, always so gentle, leaned into the embrace, but something flickered in his eyes—concern, perhaps confusion. "Hey, you good?" His voice was low, just for Elijah.

Elijah nodded into his hair, squeezing him even tighter. "Yeah... yeah, I'm good," he whispered, though the truth was tangled somewhere deeper, buried under layers of what he wasn't sure he could explain. He felt Blaze's eyes on them, felt the way Blaze leaned closer as if trying to understand, and that possessive warmth settled into him like a safety net.

Ethan didn't press for answers, simply letting Elijah hold him as the first notes of the concert blasted through the speakers, shaking the ground beneath them.

The concert was electric, pulsing with life. The stage lights flashed in sync with the heavy beat, and Elijah felt like he was floating on pure adrenaline. Rowan, the lead singer of Chaos Anthem, commanded the stage like a storm—powerful, magnetic. Every word he sang was like fire, and Elijah couldn't tear his eyes away.

Then Rowan's voice boomed over the crowd, playful and teasing. "Somebody want to come up here? What about you? The white-haired hottie?"

Elijah's breath caught in his throat. Was... was Rowan talking about him?
