"I think we can meet them once. What are your thoughts, dear?" Rabia said.

Maha replied looking up at them, "I don't understand. You can do what you feel is right."

"Are you sure? You can take your time and think. " Her father said.

"Yes, baba. If you feel it's right, then we can meet them. I have no problem." She said.

After that Maha departed and made her way to the balcony. The swing placed there was her favourite place to spend her time no matter if she's happy or sad.

"I wonder who they are, why do they want to meet me so eagerly, I really feel anxious." She spoke to herself. "Anyways, I think I should go and pay heed to my studies than these things." She left for her room exhaling audibly.

Next morning~

Saad's POV

It was around 11 am. I was in my office when I received a call from mom. I scrunched my brows in worry looking at the screen as she never calls me at this hour if it wasn't something urgent.

"Try to come back home early today. I have something important to discuss with you." She told me without letting the conversation stretch after answering to my greetings. She sounded serious yet excited.

I remembered she said she had a surprise for me and now, she is telling me to go home early. Something is cooking for sure.

"Is everything alright? What do you want to discuss about Ma? I'm worried." I asked when the trance of my thoughts broke as she asked if I was even listening.

"Everything is alright. Just do as I say. There is nothing to be worried of." She assured me.

"Okay. I'll reach early today." I cut the call and tried to focus on my work though  my mind is not letting me do anything but wonder about what exactly was happening.

Author POV

[5.20 pm]

Saad returned home and went to meet his mom in her room. She seemed happier than usual.

"I'm back mom. What were you gonna tell me?" He asked not being able to suppress his curiosity.

"Oh, dear. You're back. Okay, let me tell you. That day in Mr.Ahmeds daughters wedding, I meet a very sweet girl. Her dazzling personality absolutely amazed me. I always wanted someone like that to be my daughter-in-law."

"Ma, what are you saying? I'm not ready to get married now." He cut her choking on air as she dropped a bomb suddenly.

"Let me finish first, then you can say whatever you want. I talked to Mrs.Ahmed about the girl's family. She belongs to a very religious and respectful family. Everything is just as I want." She continued though he now stood up in anxiety not being able to comprehend what to do to stop her.

"Mom, please listen to me."he pleaded.

"I will. Listen to me first. I talked to the girls father. But they are not ready to get their daughter married now. But I managed a meeting somehow. We are going to meet them on Sunday. Now you can say what you want to."

"Ma I can't get married now. Why would we go to meet someone we don't even know?"

"I am not going to get you married now. I just want to fix your marriage with the girl for now. But if you like someone else then I can step back."

"There is nothing like that. But I am not going to meet any non-mahram for no reason. I can drop you there."

"Ok, fine. But keep in mind that you are going to get married to that girl only."

"Mom, if you like the girl I have no issues in marrying her. But please don't hasten. I'm not ready to get any new responsibility right now." He said sitting down beside her, holding her hand as he was a bit relaxed now.

"Okay. I'll Keep that in mind." She said with a smile lingering on her lips.

"Thanks mom. Can I get some food now? I'm hungry."

"Yeah sure. I'll get you something to eat."

Maha's POV

I was studying when mom came and told me that only the mother of the guy is coming to meet me on Sunday. She told me to get ready by 6pm. I nodded in affirmative and concentrated in my job again.

[On Sunday]
Maha got ready and sat down on her bed scrolling through her phone. Today she was not wearing her hijab as a lady was coming only. The doorbell rang and her brother opened the door. Her mom welcomed the lady and called Maha out.

Maha came and got a bit startled. The lady was none other than Mrs.Saima. She greeted her and sat down on a couch near her.

Maha's POV

I was surprised seeing Mrs.Saima. But a wave of relief washed over me too as I feel she is a very sensible lady. I met her that night at my neighbour Mr.Ahmed's daughter's wedding. Her eyes had a spark, that showed how pure and loving she was. Her aura radiated genuinity and pragmatism.

Saima's POV

Maha was looking very elegant and cute in the sky blue suit although she was not wearing any makeup. Her open hair and minimal jewelry enhanced her beauty. She was looking no less than a princess. My son will not regret my decision.

Her mother's behaviour was heart-warming too. I loved the meeting. I talked to her parents and asked them what they are willing to do regarding their daughter's marriage. They told me they don't want to marry her off now. But after meeting her I don't feel like delaying the marriage. She is not worth missing.

I want her as my daughter as soon as possible. But Saad is not ready to get new responsibilities now and they also don't want to let their daughter go far from them now. But, it scares me, fixing the marriage could lead to something haram, though I trust my son, indeed admiring a non-mehram is haram too. I think marriage should not be delayed.

I thought for a while in silence when I was drinking the tea served by Mrs.Rabia, Maha's mom.
