She got dumbstruck and spoke, "No Saad. There is no such thing. I'm not hiding anything nor something is bothering me."

"Then why are you not looking at me, my love?" He spoke in the softest possible way, holding her face by his palms.

Maha gulped while trying to control her tears but a lone tear escaped. She wiped it quickly with the back of her palm and spoke staring at the floor in a low shaky voice, "Why would I not look at you?"

Saad understood that she was trying not to break down as she promised him. Then, holding her hand he pulled her closer, he spoke, "My Scarlet, cry your heart out today. But I want no tears from tomorrow."

Maha immediately wrapped her hands around his torso and snuggled up in his warm embrace while he was letting his tears flow too, hugging her back.

After a while they pulled over and joined their forehead while their eyes were closed. They stayed in the same position for some time. Then Maha pulled him towards the swing saying "Let's sit here."

Saad nodded and followed her. As she sat down, he placed his head on her lap and held a hand of her laying flat on his back. He kissed her hand and kept holding it near his chest. Maha kept running her fingers of the other hand through his hair. They were recalling all the moments they spent together. They found solace in each others presence in the silence.

Saad's flight was scheduled for 6pm. Maha reached at the airport with Adam to bade him.

The moment arrived when he had
to leave. Maha had made up her mind that she wouldn't shed a single tear and she will bade him with a smile. She went near him and engulfed him in a warm hug. She caressed his back and he hid his face in the crook of her neck.

As they broke the hug Saad kissed on her clothed head and cupped her face in his hands. She looked up at him with a smile, her eyes showering nothing but affection. "May Allah grant you success." She said and held his hand to kiss it.

"Ameen. I'll carry your love with me until we reunite, my Scarlet." He kissed her temple and waved at her while stepping away.

He said goodbye to Adam and glanced at Maha for the last time before leaving.

Maha was sitting in her room in the evening while thinking about the piece of her heart who went far away just some time ago. Suddenly she walked towards her closet as she remembered, Saad had given her a box and told her to open it only after he leaves.

It was a baby pink cardboard box tied with a red ribbon. She could already assume  and was almost sure what was inside it. She sat on her bed and untied the ribbon before opening the lid of the box. Her lips widened to form a smile seeing a bunch of roses, her favourite red roses. She took them out from the box and found a pair of jhumka (earrings), a pair of bangles and lastly a handwritten letter.

"This man knows how to make me fall for him again and again." she thought, a red hue evident on her cheeks. She grabbed the roses and inhaled their smell before placing them beside her.

Once Saad had found her dairy on which she wrote about her day often. She remembered the day.

Flashback -
"Maha, is this your dairy?" He took it in his hand.

"Yes. I write in it sometimes, for time pass you know." She shrugged.

"Can I read it?" He raised his eyebrows expectantly looking at her.

"Of course, you can." Although she was a bit hesitant, she let it slide to not make it awkward.

He then read it and found out that she adores old school love. Flowers, letters, drives, minimal dates, jewelleries make her euphoric.

Flashback ends.

Maha picked up the letter and placed it beside her pillow. Then she picked the jewelleries and kissed them before trying them on. Maha clicked a picture before taking them off because she knew Saad is gonna ask for it.

Then she walked towards her closet and took out a box, a box full of dried and half dried flowers. She placed the new bunch of roses in it.

These were flowers Saad has been buying for her throughout the past months. Ever since he learnt about her love for flowers, he often bought her bunch of roses or lilies or sunflowers and sometimes gajras too.

Closing the door of her wardrobe, she went to the kitchen to help her mom.

After dinner, Maha called Saima to know how she was doing. Then Maha prepared to go to bed. She grabbed two diaries and a pen before sitting on her bed and reading the letter Saad had left for her.

One of these diaries was the one Saad had read and the other one was which Maha had been writing secretly. She always made sure to hide it from everyones eyes.

Maha was writing replies to each of  Saad's letters in that diary.
