I grabbed the hand slowly without any delay as I knew who it is.

Maha's POV

I touched Saad's face to check his fever. I didn't realise he was awake. He clutched  my hand gently and slowly opened his eyes to look at me. His beautiful eyes looked tired. And his touch was giving me butterflies in my stomach like every time.

"When did you come?" he asked, his voice exhausted.

"Some time ago. How are you feeling now?" I asked answering his question.

"Better". He uttered. "Did you come alone?" he asked after taking a 2 seconds break.

"Yes. Are you hungry? Should I bring you something to eat?"

"No, just sit near me." He told, sliding to make space for me. He made me sit beside him by pulling my hand which he was still holding.

"You haven't eaten anything since the morning. Let me bring you something." I told looking at him expecting him to answer in affirmative.

"Can't you just sit near me? Why do you have to go?" he said in an irked tone, and proceeded to keep his head on my lap, which was to stop me predominantly, I guess.

This man will sure make me crazy. I feel so bashful right now.

"Okay. Don't get furious. I'm here." I assured him.

"Umm..I'm having a very bad headache." He whined, his eyes closed.

I started massaging his head with one hand without saying anything, as he never let go of my other hand from his hold.

Author's POV

Saima came to check Saad with some food as Maha didn't return. She saw the wholesome scene and flashed a little smile in wonder, as it was well known to her how shy they were.

She knocked on the open door and
went in.

"Are you awake Saad?" Saima asked while keeping the food on a table near Maha, while she was massaging his head on her lap, while her cheeks were glowing in a shade of crimson.

"Hmm" he hummed.

"Then Maha please help him to get up and have this soup. He needs to take his medicine after that." Saima spoke.

Maha nodded to Saima with a shallow smile before she left.

Maha helped Saad to get up and sit. Then she took the bowl and started feeding him. Saad had the soup silently resting his back with the pile of pillows behind his back which were placed carefully by Maha. Then Maha gave him his medicine.

All this time, he was busy admiring how caring she was, with a small smile crept on his lips.

"Did you enjoy the wife duties, Scarlet?" He asked with a mischievous grin.

Maha was embarrassed by Saad's question, as she knew he was teasing her noticing she was flustered. She was short of words. So she decided to pretend she didn't hear him and started going to Saima.

"One of the foremost duties of a wife is to pay attention to her husband." Saad told her from behind, though he knew Maha would pretend not to hear.

After some time~

Saad freshened up went to see Saima and Maha. He saw them gossiping just like a real mother-daughter duo would do.

"Can you cut an apple for me Maha?" He asked while taking his place on the stool in the kitchen.

"Yes sure." She proceeded to grab an apple from the basket.

"Why are you making Maha work? Let her sit. I'll give you." Saima told Saad and got up.

"No, it's okay. I'll cut it." Maha said with a smile, gesturing her to sit back.

Just then, Saima got a call from someone. So she went to her room excusing herself.

"You didn't answer me then. Tell me, do you enjoy wife duties? Now you can't ignore me." He said flashing a smirk.

"Wife duties? You're not my husband." Maha replied mirroring his mischievous expressions.

"Accha? I'm not your husband? Then what am I? Boyfriend?" Saad said, which made both of them chuckle.

"Umm..maybe." Maha retorted.

"Come on. I'm Halal." He said faking annoyance playfully.

"But I didn't move here yet. So you're my HALAL BOYFRIEND." She said while placing the plate of apple in front of him.

"Alright this is fine." He replied smiling.

Time passed. It was 10.30pm. They had their dinner and now it was time for Maha to leave.

"Saad, go drop her home." said Saima.

"Okay" he got up to grab the keys of
his car.

"No you don't need to go. I can go alone. You're not well." She tried to deny.

"No dear. We can't let you go alone."

Maha was not wanting him to go out in this condition. But Saima and Saad were not ready to let her go alone. So, she had to give in.

After they reached~

"Call me once you reach home." Maha said to Saad.

"Alright." Saad replied.

"I could come alone. You're not well yet." worry lacing her tone.

"It's fine. I can do it for you." He said flashing a reassuring smile.

"Don't forget to take your medicine Saad. And call me if you need anything. I'll be there."

"Okay, I will, my queen." He replied.

"Now go. What are you waiting for?" Maha spoke as he was still in his place.

"Allah Hafiz." He spoke twisting the keys.

"Fi amanillah. Drive safely." she said.

Maha's POV

Next day~

I decided to go see Saad on my way back home from college. Ma opened the door and after greeting she told me Saad was in the balcony.

I went there and saw him sitting idle with something in his hand. As I went a bit closer I saw it was the watch I gifted him. He was smiling while staring at it.

I decided to have some fun. I snatched the watch from his hand, shocking him by my sudden action.

I looked at him faking anger and threw questions "Why are you smiling at this? Who gave you this? Do you have a girlfriend Saad?"
