She couldn't help flashing a shy smile as she felt the warmth of his deep affection towards her.
"I'm not convinced." She snuggled in his chest trying to hide her face.
He raised her face holding her chin once again and spoke "That shy smile says something else. Tell me now, what should I do to convince you?"
"You have to promise me you'll have to video call me everyday." Her eyes expectant.
He chuckled and spoke, "I'll surely call you eveyday. And I'll come back the earliest possible."
"No excuses are gonna work. So don't forget what you are saying now." Her rosy cheeks in contrast to her sharp glare.
"I won't." A peaceful silence engulfed them until Saad broke it again "I can't wait to see you in a bride's attire again."
A timid chuckle left Maha's throat as Saad kissed on the top of her head and pulled away from her.
"Why did you get so annoyed after listening about my trip?" Saad scrutinized the emotions casted in her eyes with his intense yet warm ones.
"Because I can't think about so much distance from you." She gulped as her stomach twisted.
"Ahan.. but why is that?" His said leaning towards her with a mischievous smirk.
"Because I love you." Her voice barely above whisper, the rosiness of her cheeks more vivid.
"You can stop blushing now, scarlet. I was teasing you. And I love you more." He said chuckled and gestured her to return in the living room forwarding his arm.

Maha's POVSoothing breeze hit my face as I was sitting in my balcony enjoying the beautiful weather. It was the Chand Raat (the night before Eid). I had applied mehendi on my both hands which made it difficult for me to brush the strands of my hair off my face. If Saad would have been here, he would have done the said task for me by now.
YES I AM WHIPPED.
We didn't get a chance to meet while preparing for our upcoming exams since the day we had iftar together at his home on the 5th day of ramadan. It's not like we haven't been talking on calls during our study-breaks everyday, but still, I miss him.
My chain of thoughts were broken by the buzz of my phone. I peeked and found that it was a videocall from Saad. I managed to pick it up and showed my hands to him all excited.
Saad chuckled and spoke "Your hands are looking very beautiful. I can't wait to see you tomorrow."
"Really? You know, I loved applying Mehendi since I was I kid. I feel so pretty." Saad smiled at me and was about to say something when my mom's voice drew our attention, who was calling me out from the kitchen.
"Saad I'll see you tomorrow. Mom is calling me to help her." I said though I wanted to talk for some more time.
"Alright. Bye." His lips tugged up showing a sad forced smile. I got up and reached my mom.

Authors POV
It was the Eid day. Maha was supposed to visit Saad's place in the morning which was a surprise for Saad but Saima was aware of it.Saad came back home after the Eid prayer and he greeted his mom with a warm hug. Then he headed to his room while calling Maha, but she wasn't picking up. He tried a couple time more before he started scrolling through his phone and laid down on his bed thinking she must be busy. Soon, he was in deep slumber. Saima noticed it when she came to check him after she didn't get any response after calling him out.
Maha was on her way at that time. As she reached, Saima welcomed her with all her affection. She spoke to her in a hushed but excited tone "Saad is sleeping in his room. This is your chance to surprise him. Go wake him up sweetie."
Maha nodded and headed to his room and discovered him sleeping lying on his side while his phone was in his hand. "My moon is looking so adorable." she said in mind scrunching her nose with a smile and sat beside him. She gently fiddled her fingers through his soft locks while she examined his features with eyes full of love.
Saad's POV
I felt a soft hand moving through my hair which woke me up. I didn't open my eyes as it felt relaxing. But I couldn't keep my eyes shut for long as I suddenly felt a kiss being planted on my face. I opened my eyes to shock myself seeing Maha.
Maha's POV
Seeing my prince charming's cute face, I couldn't resist pressing a soft kiss on his cheek. But as soon as I saw his eyes wide open afterwards, my breath hitched and I froze in my spot. I couldn't figure out what to do. After some moments I gathered some courage to move from there shrugging off some of my bashfulness. But Saad grabbed my hand as soon as I stood up and pulled to make me sit. He rested his head on his palm, supported by his elbow, the intensity of his gaze was prickling my skin. After months, I am yet to figure out how he manages to switch emotions so effortlessly. His face was still covered in a soft shade of crimson due to my actions, but the gleam of mischief in his eyes was as lucid.
"What did my Scarlet just do?" he voiced teasing me as I was almost always red with shyness with the slightest things. I couldn't think of anything to say in reply and I moved my gaze to meet anything but him.
"Why are you blushing so much? You didn't do any illegal stuff." He voiced turning my face to meet his gaze.
"I'll go see what mom is doing?" I told and escaped his grasp somehow smiling sheepishly. He followed me and came to mom's room.
"Did you like the surprise?" mom said as he came into her view.
"Definitely mom." He said with a smirk looking at me and approached to hug her from the side sitting beside her.
This silent teasing continued until it was time for me to leave for my home along with mom and Saad in the afternoon. I met with the guests who arrived that day and mom enthusiastically introduced me, not giving me a chance to get uncomfortable as an introvert.
As we reached, my parents came to welcome them. I decided to go and change to the saree that Saad's mom had gifted me.
