a start of love?

Pablo: Heyy, do you want to hang out with me, Pedri and Camila today?

                                                                                                     Tess: Yes, absolutely! What time should I arrive?

Pablo: You can come in an hour, see you later <3

                                                                                                                                                                            Tess: Okay <3

I quickly shower. Then I walk to my wardrobe. I choose light green cargo jeans and a short white top, my stomach is a little visible. I'm a bit disappointed that Pablo and I aren't going to do something together. But I'm not going to ask for it. Once I've put on my outfit and got ready, I see that I only have 10 minutes left to get to Pablo on time. I quickly walk out of the student house and walk to the bus station.

When I arrive in front of Pablo's house, I am surprised. How can someone so young have such a big house? I stand at the door, afraid to ring the doorbell.

 Then the door opens. "Hey Tess! So nice to see you!' 'Hey Pablo, it's so nice to see you too!' We give each other a hug. My heart skips a beat. I feel his warm breath. Then we let go.

I can already see Camila and Pedri sitting on the couch. They both stand up and greet me. 'How are your studies going, Tess? Very good! I have to pass 1 exam and then I have my diploma. So good for you! Thank you Camila. 

After chatting for a while, Pablo picks up his phone. ''Shall we order some food or would you like to make your own food?'' ''I think ordering is a good plan.'' Everyone agrees. ''What do you want to eat?'' ''Maybe pizza?'' ''Great, let's do that!''

'Shall we play some football?' 'Yea, why not!' The four of us walk outside. Gavi walks to the shed to grab a football. In the garden there is a small football field with 2 goals. 'Camila and I are a team!' Pedri shouts loudly. 

'Then I think it's just the two of us, Pablo.' 'Not bad at all.' he says while winking. I feel myself turning red. 

Then we start playing football. Pablo has the ball and passes it to me. Pedri comes towards me, trying to take the ball. But I beat him and I make a panna. I hear Pablo cheering. I shoot at the goal and score a goal. Pablo runs up to me and gives me a hug. 

'I didn't know you were so good at football, mi vida.' This nickname is really sweet! I'm melting from inside. A warm feeling flows through my body. 

When I let go of Pablo, I look at Pedri. I have to laugh at the way he looks. Very disappointed. 'I'm sorry, Pedri.' I say, but I don't actually mean it. He smiles. No it's okay. I just didn't expect it. I laugh. 

After playing for half an hour, we stop. Pablo and I won 10-4. Pedri comes up to me and shakes my hand. 'Congratulations on the win.' I smile. 'Thanks.' We all walk inside. When we walk into the living room, we hear the doorbell. Pedri opens the door. He closes the door and walks back into the living room. 'Pizza is here!' We sit on the couch. 'Which movie do you want to watch?' 'Maybe a scary movie?' Pedri says. I won't say anything because I don't want to ruin it, but I hate scary movies. Pablo searches and finally finds the movie that Pedri and Camila want to see. 

I sit a little closer to Pablo. He looks at me with a smile, so I quickly look away. 'Come.' He opens his arm invitingly. When I sit next to him, I hear soft chuckling. I look at Pedri, but I ignore him. I lay my head on his shoulder. Pablo puts his arm around me and gently caresses my upper arm.

The movie is scary, way too scary if you ask me. Whenever there's scary pieces come, I quickly look away. Pablo realizes it. 'If you find it too scary, you should say so.' He whispers gently in my ear. 'No it's okay.' 

When Pablo gets up to get some food, I get up too. 'I'll help you.' When we enter the kitchen, Pablo smiles. 'Pedri is really strong enough to save you, when scary people come towards you Tess.' 'Maybe, but I only feel safe when you're around.' 'That's sweet of you.' We grab all the snacks and then we walk back.

I'm in Pablo's guest room. I've already changed, but I can't fall asleep. I just don't understand how people can fall asleep so easily after such a scary movie. Pedri and Camila decided to stay too. They sleep downstairs on the couch. 

My stomach is gurgling. Shoot. Of course I can't walk downstairs and grab food now, then I'll wake Pedri and Camila. I lie down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. But besides the movie, the evening was really great and Pablo was so sweet! When I'm lost in my thoughts, I hear the door open. I sit up, shocked. 

Pablo is standing in the doorway. I look at him. He is only wearing gray sweatpants. His entire upper body is naked. 'I'm very sorry. I saw light coming from your room. Did I wake you up?' 'No, I can't fall asleep.' 'Is it about the movie?' Actually, I don't want to admit it, but I know Pablo is not going to make jokes about it. 'Yes, it's so childish.' 'No, it's okay! I also thought the movie was too scary. 

Would you like to come and lie in bed with me? Maybe then you can sleep better.' I nod. I'm sure the chances of me falling asleep will be much smaller. But that doesn't matter to me. I grab Pablo's hand and we walk to his bedroom together.

 I lay down in his bed and pull the covers all the way up to my chin. Pablo goes to the toilet. When he gets into bed too, I turn to him. I look straight into his dark brown eyes. He looks back.

 After a long time of being lost in those beautiful dark brown eyes, I lie closer to Pablo and I carefully place my head on his chest. "Do you want to cuddle?" I nod. I put my arm around his neck. He gently runs his fingers over my scalp. As I'm about to fall asleep, I hear a whispering voice.

 "Thank you for reminding me what butterflies feel like." Then I fall asleep.
