same hospital

Tess pov:

I walk to the hospital. 

The hospital where we were after the accident.

 The day I got Hope. 

To be honest, it doesn't feel good to be back. All the bad memories come flooding back to me. 

I get goosebumps when I walk into the hospital. The smell is exactly the same. 

It may all sound very exaggerated, but for me this is really a fear that I have to overcome. Luckily I have Hope with me. I enjoy her now that she can walk. 

She's become a lot naughtier, but I love her. She holds my hand and walks very slowly to the front desk. When we get to the front desk, I pick her up. I'm afraid she'll run away otherwise. Luckily she stays quiet. 

"Hello ma'am, what can I do for you?" "Hello, I have come to visit Pedri and Camila Gonzalez." She types something on her computer. '' Mrs. Gonzalez is in room 310A and Mr. Gonzalez is in room 311A.'' "Okay, thank you very much." 

I walk towards the elevator. There's a man at the elevator. He's looking at me, but really looking. Then he smirks at me. I don't feel comfortable with him, so I walk to the stairs. 

Really, I don't understand why men are like that.

 Then a thought comes to mind. 

No, don't think about it. He's not there to protect you. 

I'm walking on the 3rd floor. I want to go to Camila first. I carefully knock on the door. I know Camila is conscious, but other than that I have no idea. 

"Come in" I hear softly, so I open the door. Hope makes all kinds of happy noises when she sees Camila. "Hey Tess" she says softly, but visibly happy. 

''Hey Camila. Please don't ever do this again'' I say half crying. We give each other a hug. Hope is now investigating the room. I also look around the room. 

Suddenly my breathing becomes very fast. The room is exactly the same as the room I was in.

 The same bed, the same cupboard in the corner of the room and the same view. 

I feel myself starting to sweat and I feel light headed. "Are you okay Tess?" I feel dizzy, but I nod. "Sit down, Tess." I sit down on the chair. After a while I feel a bit better again. 

I'm feel very ashamed. Camila is the one in the hospital, not you. So don't play the victim now. And most importantly, don't cry about what just happened.

I look at Camila. "I'm sorry, I just got dizzy for a moment," I say, smiling so as not to worry her. Then a light bulb goes on for her.

 "Is this the same room you were in after the accident?" 

''Not the same room, but it looks very similar'' I say while trying to hold back my tears. "I'm so sorry, Tess, that you had to go through this. If you want to leave, that's fine too," she says as she takes my hand. ''No definitely not. I like being with you'' I say while looking at her. 

I switch the subject so I can think about something else for a while. "How are you?" She looks at her arm. ''I'm okay. I'm still dizzy and my arm is broken, but I'm very happy that we're both still alive.'' She smiles.

 ''I'm also very happy that you are still alive. When I heard it, I was so shocked.'' 

Hope has now come to me. "Would you like to say hello to Aunt Camila?" I ask her. I pick her up and she looks at Camila. "Hi Hope," Camila says as she takes Hope's hand, "how are you?" Hope laughs and gently slaps Camila's hand with her hand. 

 "She's getting so big already Tess" she says while looking at Hope. "I know, time goes way too fast," I say, smiling.

A doctor comes in. ''Visiting hours are almost over. If you want to see another patient, you have to do it now.'' I nod politely at the doctor. 

"It was very good to see you Camila, but I want to go to Pedri before the visiting hour is over." "It was also good to see you Tess, and that's totally fine. Drive carefully and say hi to Pablo.'' 

I'm shocked when I hear the last thing. She doesn't know yet that Pablo and I are on a break. But I don't want to worry her, so I nod. ''I will, Camila. And rest well.'' I look and smile at her one more time and then I walk, with Hope on my arm, to the hallway.

I can quickly visit Pedri. I'm going to tell him that Pablo and I are on a break, so he knows. I know Pedri only has a bruised wrist, otherwise I wouldn't have told him. 

I walk to his room and knock. "Come in!" I walk into the room. 

"Hey Tess and Hope, how are you doing?" "An honest answer?" He nods. "Of course, you shouldn't lie to your best friend." I laugh. "You're right." Then I get serious again. 

I sit on the chair. Hope sat on my lap. "Pablo and I are having a break." 

Well, the big word is out, I think with relief. 

He looks at me startled. ''What do you say? Are you serious?'' ''Very serious'' I say nervously. ''He cheated on me during dinner with the whole team, while I wasn't there.'' ''He's so dirty. He said it was his niece. I already thought it was weird when they went outside together." I nod. 

"Frenkie saw it too and he also saw that they were walking hand in hand." 

"I can hardly believe it. Pablo cares about you so much.'' he says. ''I don't believe it either, hermano. 

I'm with Pablo's parents now, because Pablo sleeps in our house, but Pablo's parents hardly believe it either. I have a feeling there's more to it.'' I say. 

"But I just wanted to tell you so that you knew before there were any noise on social media." "I understand that. And does Camila know yet?'' I shake my head. 

"I didn't know how she felt and I don't want her to get upset. So if you can tell her if she can handle it, that would be very nice.'' I say smiling. "I will, hermana." I give him a hug. 

"You better get better soon hermano, the team misses you." "I'll do my best," he says, laughing.Hope also gives him a hug. 

Then we walk out of the room, on the way to the car.
