Tess pov:

I'm tied to a chair. My hands and feet are tied with a thick rope. My father holds his gun a few feet in front of me.

Just like how he killed my mother.

My breathing is rapid, but I still feel an inner peace. I don't have to go through any more misery now, it's over. I have been held captive for 9 days, and I am finally being released from my misery.

It hurts me to never be able to see Hope and Pablo again, but I know I can't change anything now.

''If I miss this shot, you're lucky. A lot of people are looking for you. After this shot, you'll never see me again. I'm running away from France.'' I nod.

He holds the gun in front of me and takes aim. I close my eyes. "Bye Teddy."

"I hope you pay for everything you've done."

Then he fires the shot. The bullet hits me. I scream out in pain.

I hear my father leaving. The door is slammed shut. I try to look at the wound the bullet made, but I can't.

What I do see is blood. A lot of blood. Blood on my neck, arm, and stomach. There is also blood splatter on the ground. There's nothing I can do to stop the bleeding.

I feel light-headed. I look around again. "I will always love you Pablo." I whisper. I know he doesn't hear it, but I still want to say it. Then I breathe for the last time.

Everything goes black before my eyes, and then suddenly a bright light.

Pablo pov:

I'm in the street where Tess is probably located. Pedri is with me. The French police told us not to search ourselves, but we decided not to listen to the police.

I can't do nothing when my girlfriend, my life, the mother of my daughter, has been kidnapped.

After a long search we have a suspicion where she is. A remote place on the outskirts of Paris. I look around the street, looking for the right house.

A car drives by at a high speed. I look at the driver. Chills run down my spine. A man looks me straight in the eye. Mid-length gray hair and eyes that look like the eyes of a terrible person.

Fortunately, the car does not stop, but continues driving.

''Pablo, I'm calling an ambulance and the police. Just in case.'' ''That's fine Pepi.'' I quickly run to where the car came from. I arrive at the house.

There is a lip gloss. "You're here Tess. I'm here to help you." I whisper. The lip gloss is Tess' favorite. She takes it everywhere.

I try to open the door, but it's locked. I kick the door with all my strength, but it doesn't budge. It does creak. After a few powerful kicks, the door comes off its hinges.

I look into the dark room. Only a small window provides a little light. Then I look at the corner of the room. There's someone sitting in the chair. That someone is Tess.

"Tess!" I run to her. There is blood, a lot of blood, on her upper body.

"I will always love you Pablo."

Then she closes her eyes. "Tess, wake up!"

I grab her hands. They are completely cold. ''No Tess, please. Wake up, please!''

I feel if she still has a heartbeat, but I don't feel anything. Nothing at all.

I pull the ropes off her body. Her hands and feet are covered in welts. I sink to the ground and cry hard, really hard. I hear someone come in and hoist me up. But all the strength in my body disappears.

I look at her lifeless body. "She's dead." I'm crying hard. "You can't be serious." I nod and look at Pedri. He looks at Tess.

I collapse on the ground and cry harder. Pedri sits next to me and holds me tight. I can't look at Tess. It's too bad.

"An ambulance is coming, maybe they can help." Pedri lets go of me and stands up.

I watch him as he carefully lifts the lifeless body and places it on the couch.

"Pablo, do you have something I can use to close the wound?" I stand up and give him my shirt.

Now I have a bare upper body, it is quite cold. But I'm doing it for Tess. Maybe it can mean something.
