WHEN THEY GOT BACK, IT WAS AS IF A SWITCH FLIPPED AND AN INCONTROLLABLE ANGER BUILT UP INSIDE OF HER.

"You know what?" She slurred. "Why can't you see me as the woman I really am? Why do you see me as Vincent's dumb little sister?"

"You aren't dumb," he shot back, trying to maintain a calm demeanor.

She's drunk, Anthony, he had to say to himself.

"But you still see me as Vincent's little sister. After fucking me to oblivion, I'm back to just being a kid in your eyes."

"Vic, you're drunk. How about we go to bed?" He gently suggested, trying to calm her down. She just laughed bitterly and shook her head.

"Not unless you join me," she said in a sing-song voice.

"Again, you're drunk. I will not take advantage of you. Come," he gently placed his hand on her back and led her to the bathroom. "Let's wash your face, okay?"

"Whatever," she grumbled. She allowed him to wipe everything off with a make up wipe, annoyed at how gentle he was being. She didn't want gentle. She wanted to scream at him, then get punished for having an attitude. However, he paid no mind. As much as he'd love to bend her over his lap right now, doing so while he was drunk would definitely be crossing the line.

After removing her make up, he looked at her many skin care bottles in confusion. She shooed him away and roughly stood to her feet.

"I can at least do my skin care," she grumbled. "Watch and learn."

And he did. He wasn't sure why he cared so damn much about her serums, moisturizer, face oils, and the differences between them and what does what.

He knew he was in too deep and he couldn't keep lying to himself.

Once she was done, she attempted to stumble to her bedroom, nearly falling in the process. Anthony refrained from laughing and was quick to assist. Of course, not without her complaining.

"I'm an independent woman, I don't need help."

"You need to get your ass to your room before Vincent comes home and sees you drunk," he explained. "He's going to be home any minute."

"Let him see! The precious, goody two-shoes finally coming out of her shell!" She began to laugh bitterly. "Maybe this is what it takes for you to notice me."

He placed her on the bed, draping the covers over her body. He wanted to tell her that he noticed her. He wanted to tell her how he truly felt about her.

"I do notice you, Vic," he said under his breath, not loud enough for her to hear. Not like it would matter too much right now, as she was already asleep.

Sighing, he gently closed the door behind him. Knowing she was going to feel awful tomorrow, he decided to leave a bottle of Motrin and some water on her night stand.

He sat on the couch with his head in hands, having an internal battle in his head. One that hasn't stopped from the moment she moved in. He was so deep in thought, he didn't even notice Vincent come in.

"What's got you down?"

His voice made Anthony jump in surprise. He knew the only person who could help him make sense in his head, was his best friend. So twisting the truth a little wouldn't hurt anybody.

"I think I'm in love, Vin."

"If you're in love, why aren't you happy?" He asked as he sat down, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Her family would never approve."

"Hey, you're a great guy. If they can't see that, it's their loss. I say you go for it anyways."

Little did Vincent know, he just gave Anthony full permission to finally tell Victoria how he truly, truly felt about her.

"Yeah, you're right," Anthony agreed. "Thanks, man."

"Of course. Oh, I also got tomorrow off due to staying late tonight. I figured the three of us could do something fun? It's the first day of the fair."

"Yeah, that sounds great. Vic loved it last year when we took her."

It was easy to remember. She ate her weight in cotton candy and funnel cake, had a sugar high that lasted almost the whole night before she crashed and had to be carried home.

"Yeah, yeah she did," Vincent laughed. "I'll run it by her tomorrow. Goodnight."

He went to his room, leaving Anthony to his thoughts again. However, this time they were determined to make Victoria trust him again. He'd do anything to have her, and he'll do anything to keep her.
