IT WAS SAFE TO SAY THAT VICTORIA WAS STRESSING. She had no idea what she was going to wear on her first date with Anthony.
It was now a week after their trip to the pier, so Vincent was back at work. He informed them both that he'd be working a double shift tonight, so they took advantage of the time they'd have.
She didn't even know where he was taking her, claiming it was a surprise.
She hated surprises. How was she supposed to plan when it was a surprise? Does she dress casually, cute, formal, or like a bum? What shoes does she wear? Make up? Accessories?
Men sometimes truly didn't understand the effort it took for women to get ready for dates.
Deciding she would need reinforcements, she grabbed her phone and found Vi's contact, pressing call. And of course, like the amazing big sister she is, she answered on the first ring.
"What do you wear on a first date?"
"Oh, hi! I'm good, thank you for asking," her sister's voice came through the phone, making Victoria chuckle.
"Hi, I'm sorry. It's just- I have this date, and I don't know what to wear. Or how to act. Or what to do. And I need my sister."
"Who are you going on a date with? I thought you were staying in Santa Monica with Vinny for the summer?"
Victoria froze, wondering if she should tell Vi who exactly she was going on a date with. Technically, they said they weren't going to tell Vincent.
"Well, funny story, actually. I am indeed in Santa Monica, staying with Vin and Anthony. Mom and dad dropped me off early, so our brother couldn't get the week off work yet, so-"
"Victoria, are you going on a date with Anthony? Vincent's best friend? A man who's seven years older than you?"
"It'll be six years in a few weeks!" Victoria exclaimed, before quickly realizing that she didn't deny who her date was.
"Stop avoiding the question. Vic, you can tell me anything and it will not leave this phone call."
"Yes," Victoria sighed. "I really, really like him, Vi. I've never been on an actual date where I truly cared about the guy before. And he's been so good to me."
"Does Vincent know?"
"Do you really need to ask that?"
"Good point," her older sister muttered. "Okay, so where is he taking you?"
"I have no idea. He said it's a surprise."
"Go with a sun dress, they fit any occasion. Plus, white makes you look tanner."
Victoria smiled and immediately pulled out an all white one from the closet.
"Thank you! See, this is why I'll always need you!"
"I just hope you don't keep this from Vin too long. I know he can be... over protective. But his main focus is if we're happy and being treated right. If you and Anthony are serious about each other, he'll be more than happy about it. And if he didn't, then Cat and I will knock sense into him."
"I'll keep that in mind. We're just going on dates to get to know each other on a more romantic level, seeing where it goes before we tell him. I'd hate to tell him and then just for us to break up. I don't want to put him in a position where he'd feel like he has to chose."
"Again, another good point. When did you get so wise? That's my job!" Vi joked, making the younger sister laugh.
"I guess you and mom taught me a thing or two. You know, besides the college thing."
"Hey, it's your life. You know they'll come around. In my opinion, they should be happy they don't need to pay a third tuition."
"Right? Like, how much are text books now?@
"Too much. Well, I'll let you get ready for your date. Don't be a stranger, okay?"
"I promise, I won't. I'll call you tonight and let you know how it goes?"
"I'll be waiting!"
After saying their I love you's, Victoria hung up and quickly changed into her dress. She decided to pair it with straps sandals and light make up, and left her hair in its natural waves.
"Are you ready, love?" She heard a familiar voice from the doorway. Smiling, she turned to Anthony and nodded.
"Yeah, let's go."
"Here," he handed her his leather jacket. "We're taking my bike again and I don't want you to get cold.
"Okay," she smiled wider, putting on the jacket.
"It looks much better on you," he told her as he grabbed her hand gently, pulling her closer and giving her a small kiss on her forehead. "Let's go, princess."

I'm not okay. I keep reading Spider Man fanfics (Andrew's) and like.. I know Gwen dies in his universe, but why do we have to kill the OC!? Like.. stop hurting my heart. Keep his love ALIVE please 😭😭😭 The disrespect, honestly
Also.. who else is obsessed with Taylor Swift? I saw the Eras Tour movie Friday night and what I wouldn't give to have seen it in person. Sigh.
Anyways, enjoy the update and I'll see you guys Wednesday for the actual date and some smut. Mondays I have a harder time writing because of my weekly therapy appointments, so I have to write at work... and I will not write smut at work. Way too awkward. One time I did, and I got caught and all he could say was "wow, you're freaky" 😭 so embarrassing
I don't know why I dedicated a whole chapter into getting ready? But at least you have a better dynamic between the sisters. I have insane writer's block, as usual. I swear, it's like my brain hates me or something.
