"Maddie, you have to come out with us." Sasha pleaded as I sat back down on my bed and resumed reading my book

"You know the club is not really my thing." I replied

"Getting out will be good for you."

"No thanks, I'd much prefer to stay here and read my book."

"That's it!" She snapped

"What the hell?" I yelled as she snatched my book out of my hands

"I'm not gonna let you stay in here all summer, how bout this I'll make a deal with you."

"What?"

"You come out with me and Aliyah tonight and I wont ask you to do it again for the rest of the summer, and I'll give this back." She teased dangling my book in my face

I really wanted my book back but I had so many others did I really need it? Nah not really I'll just start another. But I do love that book. I guess I could just go buy another one.

"Earth to Madison. Are you in or what?"She questioned interrupting my thoughts

"I would but I don't have anything to wear." I lied

That probably was one of the worst things I could have said. After the fatal words parted my lips a smile spread across her face like a child that saw Santa for the first time she jumped off my bed and darted to her room she was back in seconds with purple backless half shirt with a black skater skirt. And before I could say anything she ran to my closet and grabbed a pair of six inch black and purple strappy stilettos that I bought like 2 years ago.

"Now you do. So get up go take a shower then get dressed Aliyah will be here in less than an hour." She commanded as she walked out of my room closing the door behind her

"Yes mom." I taunted

I walked to the bathroom and cut on the shower I waited for the water to warm up then I stepped in and let the water run down my body for a moment then I grabbed my shampoo and lathered my hair then rinsed it out then did it like 2 more times to make sure it was at its cleanest. After I bathed I got out and blow dried my hair then wrapped up in my towel and walked back to my room. I plugged my phone into my speakers and went to my everyday playlist and turned on Shut Up and Dance by Walk The Moon then danced over to my clothes. I dried off then threw my towel in my hamper then put on my black strapless bra then slid on my black thong.I put lotion on then my clothes.
I went back to my bathroom to put on some eye liner around my eyes some lip gloss, I wasn't a big fan of make up. I looked at my hair I honestly didn't know what to do with it was just a red curly afro I accepted defeat and left the bathroom. I sat on the end of my my bed and put my shoes on then I unplugged my phone and put it in my black clutch. I grabbed my perfume bottle and sprayed some behind my ear, on my inside wrist, on my inside elbow, at the base of my throat, and behind my knee.

"Maddie, Aliyah is here are you ready?" Sasha yelled outside of my room

"Yes, can we leave so we can I want to get this over with and get back to my book" I complained

"Don't be such a Debbie downer lighten up. Who knows you you might meet someone? " she teased

"Oh what if I meet the one?" I mocked

"Don't be an ass." She laughed

"Okay but can we seriously get going now." Aliyah interrupted

"Okay, your driving right?" Sarah asked

"Why can't you drive?"

"Because I don't want to. Why can't you drive?"

"Because I don't want to" with that I sat on the sofa and pulled out my phone
After about 5 minutes of them going back and forth the room got silent. I looked up from my phone to see them both staring at me.

"No. This was not my idea I'm not driving. You too wanted me to go with you I didn't ask you all to come with me so, you all have to provide me with transportation." I argued

"Please Madison, you know we're not responsible we'll probably get there then get drunk and you'll end up driving anyway." Aliyah begged

"Yeah what she said." Sasha added unnecessarily

"Y'all get on my nerves but fine I'll drive but you both have to sit in the back."

"Fine." they agreed

The ride to the club was silent and every time I looked in my rear view mirror they looked like sad children being driven to school on a Saturday. I just ignored them but I saw them change their attitude as we pulled up. They readjusted their hair and redid their lipstick. It was valet parking which relieved me. I got the ticket from the valet driver then paid the $20 so I wouldn't have to worry about it when we were leaving. When we got inside it was barely lit, crowded and smelled like a combination of weird of odors that together created that club smell, it was in these brief seconds that I remembered why I stayed in my room reading. I went and stood off to the side and watched the drunk girls dance on everybody in the club, the couples that looked like they were swallowing each other, the drunk guy dancing by himself, the group of girls dancing in a circle, and everyone else kinda doing their own thing. I was nodding to the music when some guy came out of nowhere trying to talk to me.

"Why is a pretty girl like yourself over here alone?" He yelled over the music

"I'm not a big dancer." I yelled back hoping he would take a hint

"Oh, so how are you doing tonight?" He asked

"I'm fine." I yelled while looking for Sasha or Aliyah

"That's good. I'm fine too thanks for asking."

"I didn't ask though."

"But I know you wanted to know so I told you. You're welcome. I know it's hard to talk to a handsome guy like myself."

"Well, to bad for a handsome guy like yourself I like girls."

"I like girls too." He smiled and moved closer to me

"That's mean I don't like guys you know. So you're wasting your time right now." I push him away

"You don't really like girls, you've just never been with the right guy."

"Sorry I took so long babe you okay?" asked a female I had never met before

Before I could say anything she pulled me into a kiss, it wasn't the best kiss ever but it wasn't the worst. I didn't want it to end but then I realized I didn't know who exactly was kissing me so I pulled away

"What the hell?" I snapped

"Don't act like you didn't like it but I did it so he would leave you alone." She responded with an Australian accent

"Well thank you."

"So you did like it?" She questioned

"Maybe." I responded while biting my bottom lip which cause her to smile and send chills down my spine

"Well why don't we go somewhere to talk more the music's really loud right now"

"Sure" I agreed and followed her up stairs to a balcony area

We found a place to sit in the corner away from everybody which I guess made her comfortable because she took off her hat and shades

"Well, I should start by saying my name is Ruby." She announced while running her fingers through her hair

"I'm Madison."

"Well Madison, I want to apologize for my earlier actions even though you liked it you didn't know me and I just walked up and kissed you which I'm sure was weird but as I said before...." She was interrupted by her phone ringing

"Well sadly I have to go but I would like finish this conversation maybe I can call you tonight or we could go out some time? " She asked

I couldn't formulate words so I just nodded yes

"Here put your number in my phone."

I did as she said because I wanted to talk to her again. She planted a kiss on my cheek then put her hat and shades back on then left. For a few minutes I stood there thinking about how beautiful she was, how she was nice, how she appeared to have a lot of tattoos, but most of all how her accent made me melt like butter and even though we just met I felt like this was the start of something new.
