Sneaking through Hogwart's hallways at night required a lot of stealth and patience, but once you managed to get away from your common room, out of sight of the prefects and ghosts, it was relaxing.

Walking through the empty halls was a curious contrast to how overwhelmingly crowded they were during the day, especially the Clock Tower.

But unfortunately for you, the reason you were out in the middle of the night was not to explore the castle.
You turned towards the hallway that for everyone else seemed to be a dead end, you looked at the large clock and wondered what was waiting for you inside. You looked around to make sure no one was following you and entered the Undercroft.

Sebastian's frustration was palpable from the moment you stepped foot in the room. He was muttering all kinds of insults and shooting spells at a practice dummy.

"Are you sure it deserves all that anger?"

You had startled him, but he immediately relaxed when he saw that it was you.

"Oh hello darling, did I miss dinner?" he asked, without much concern.

"Sebastian is past curfew... by a lot".

He looked at you bewildered and checked his pocket watch.

"Bloody hell. Have I been here all night and still don't get this stupid spell right? Fuck! "

He started mumbling again, you knew he was angry and tired but so were you and you didn't have the energy to deal with him.

"You will achieve it, just not tonight. Let's go to bed." you extended your hand, hoping he would take it and follow you, but your boyfriend wasn't even looking at you.

"No! I'm not leaving. I'm so close, I can feel it"

He pointed his wand to the dummy for a few seconds, nothing happened, so he yelled out of frustration.

"Sebastian please, let's go. Ominis is worried about you, he sent me an owl asking me to come find you."

He took his attention away from the dummy for a moment and finally focused on the conversation.

"I haven't seen Ominis since this afternoon, how did you know where I was?"

"Well to be fair he has never seen you, so" Sebastian's laughter echoed throughout the Undercroft, and you smiled thankful that he let go of his sadness for a moment. "You always come down here when you want to practice a spell. And thank Merlin you are here and not at the dueling club, you would probably be in detention by now."

"I'm sorry I lost track of time. It's just this stupid nonverbal magic. Why can we stick with regular magic?"

His frustration makes you feel a bit of tenderness.

"Sebastian we just started learning nonverbal magic, no one expects you to master it right away."

He was pointing again at the dummy, but nothing happened and he sighed in defeat.

"I do. I'm usually good at mastering spells right away."

Sometimes you wonder how his self-portrait could be charming and annoying at the same time.

"Realy? Mastering?"

"Maybe not mastering them, but I usually learn very quickly!" he had stated walking in circles, talking more to himself than to you. "I mean, how was I able to cast unforgivable curses but can't cast a stupid nonverbal levitation charm!"

"Oh sweetie, you really shouldn't be bragging about unforgivables. And you are failing because you are doing it wrong."

You made your way next to the dummy and put it in place, then you walked back to where your dummy was prattling.
